  2. I download quite a bit of software (nearly 4GB so far this month - and that's not including operating systems) and I am very happy with Free Download Manager. It does everything I need it to, and even things I don't need it to. :) I wish it would integrate some good BitTorrent support, but other than that I'm content to use it coupled with Firefox and FlashGot.

I have no real interest in NeoDownloader. I see it's use, but I have a download manager which does everything I need it to already. :)

  6. uh right. SmartWhois didn't work for me. Wouldn't connect to port 80 by default...wanted to connect on 2020 (who knows why) so I uninstalled it.

  8. I know about that, McAfee Site Advisor is well-known crapware. They gave this rating due to downloads sub-site which is 3rd party software archive.

  9. SiteAdvisor is better then some other products I have seen

  10. well I never used any site rating software products, I'm an Internet vet=), since 1992, when it was basically an email-based talk, so it's not easy to sell me a spyware web site:)

giveawayoftheday.com states: "that software will be absolutely free. That means - not a trial, not a limited version - but a registered and legal version of the software will be free for our visitors." BUT the license agreement for NeoDownloader states: "Anyone may use this software during an evaluation period of 30 days. Following this evaluation period of 30 days or less, if you wish to continue to use NeoDownloader, you must purchase it." So, which is it -- a 30 day trial, or a full registered version?

  12. Full registered one, IF you install and activate it within 24 hours of giveaway period.

Once installed, the program's register feature gives a requester box with a link reading: "Get your registration code here" but that link is to http://www.neowise.com/order/ where you can purchase software, not to a registration code (although there is a link to their "lite" freeware version). Why not be honest about what you're offering?

  14. You have to run the Activate.exe which comes with the program.

I don't know if this works or not, because by the time I got your reply and tried it, I was told the period was over. I uninstalled the program and will go to majorgeeks.com next time I want a utility. At least there, I know in advance what is free and what is pay and without extra steps or time limits.
