The Winsnap registration file winsnap.key won't run so I can't register the software. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Why can't you register it? As when you start it up, it ask you where the WinSnap.key file is and once you tell it, it registers just fine. Here is what the readme.txt file says:

Installation
Unzip the package you`ve downloaded and install the software,
then register the software using the activation key provided (WinSnap.key file).___________________________________________________

GAOTD has just announced that they modified the registeration in the download. I don't know what this means, but they recommend those that had problems to redownload.

According to the "Register" page on the WinSnap website:
http://www.ntwind.com/software/winsnap/register.htmlWinSnap may be used free of charge only by a non-commercial entity for personal, educational and non-commercial purposes.
So unless you are using WinSnap for commercial (making money) purposes, WinSnap doesn't need to be registered anyway.
If your registration doesn't work - and you meet the above criteria, the software should continue to run without limitations.

This key file IS NOT A REGISTRY FILE! It simply is a text file that needs to exist and the program reads that file so make sure it's in the same directory as the main program.
