  2. Paulga....Nice pets....I especially like Molly. Is she a springer or mix maybe? Looks like the critters all know who to go to in your neck of the woods! :)

    Here's some of Buckley:

Buckleysmom, Aha i see why you liked Molly, there is a resemblance, in the colours,
good looking dog, but whats the breed, looks like a Griffon ( gun dog Russian, i think )
or is he a Terrier, bet he can nearly talk, lovely dog.

    Cute pets

The kittens that didnt have their shots were given away :-\

But yesterday I found 2 cute kittens at a shelter and they come with all their shots.

But the problem is they need to weigh 2 pounds before they can get fixed, and one is a boy and the other is a girl and they wont let us take them home because they might get pregnate. But those kittens share the same cage now :-\

So far the kittens weigh 1.8 pounds and 1.2.

Are the kittens litter mates? Does the shelter charge for them? Maybe you could put some money down to hold them. I am sure they watch if the female goes into heat and would separate them then! I am thinking from what your saying that this shelter will be doing the fixing also. Make sure you get a clean bill of health in writing!
I had my female cat fixed(back in the 80's)and she went into heat again! I had to take her back to the vet that did it and have her put under again(was very mad), the vet did it for free the second time, but then he was the one that didn't get it right the first time! Keep all receipts!!!

as I understand it both dogs and cats are physicaly unable to actualy digest corn. Any corn product they eat, gets pooped out completely unchanged. So it makes a good filler but serves no other purpose. This past x-mas I was really hurting for cash so I went to cheeper food like meow mix and others. I havent bought IAMS since xmas. and over time I have noticed that my black female has dandruff now which she had not had till the switch. Also I go through 2 bins of litter a month. Thats 1 more then i needed with the IAMS. So it seems I cant win because what I save on food; I spend on litter. With cheaper food..the pet needs to eat more of it to get the same health benefit.

I believe cat fancy and dog fancy both published an easyread article explaining exactly what each ingriedient actualy is. It was a real eye opner for me.If anyone is interested in it I will try to find links 2 it. generaly meat should be the first ingredient. Carnivours are not vegitarians.

But what is best and what I can afford are rarely the same or else I would be eating only free range organic meat myself. We are what we eat. But I do the best I can. I have 4 indoor cats and go through 20# bag a month.

Thanks 4 the suet links :)

This is the little book I have, although I got it from "Wild Bird Crossing", very popular in most small community's.

Robins also love suet, but have a hard time on the cake feeders, you get a 2 foot wood slab plank(mine is natural) and attach an eye hook, then take 2 cheap suet cake feeders(1 on top on one side, the other on the bottom other side), most of the larger woodpeckers love this too! I have so many Piliated(spellcheck) 14 inch woodpeckers when we made these! Look at Bird stores and if you can work with stuff(I'm sure you can), you can make your own with their expensive ideas!

This link is from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Recipes-are-Birds-Irene-Cosgrove/dp/0385126344
Mine cost me $7.50 when I bought it, lol!

  11. Anyone know about how much it will cost well if you ask I think it best to give away, as my cat cost over $ 1000 at the vet it 18 year's old.and eat $2 a day I like my cat so I keep it small price to pay.

Suki- thanks for the reply,I'll try that thing with the wood plank or a split log for a more natural look.I too noticed that a lot of woodpeckers seem to be attracted to the suet cage.
I have it outside my office window and enjoy watching them, and Brandy (my cat) will sit and watch them, although I think she sees it as a big buffet?

I get wood delivered to my trailer, some of it is slab wood!
That's what we made the suet cake feeders from. They are attached with a pulley system to topped off Jack Pines so we can raise and lower them to fill the cages.
Birch logs make wonderful looking feeders too, you just add the eye hook at the top in the same way, and use I believe it's called a hole saw, to make holes(they don't go all the way thru) you stuff with peanut butter, or a suet type mix.
Tell Brandy you will get her caviar instead, rofl!!!!!

Buckleysmom here (using hubbys pc and can't remember my login).

Paulga....Buckley is a cockapoo but at almost 40 lbs he's twice the size he should be. Thanks for the compliments, as his mom I just eat them up :) You are right too....he almost does talk. Everyone always asks if he's a springer and I've often wondered if he has some in him. He's definitely a spaniel, loves the water and birds. But the groomer shaved his muzzle one time and under all that fur he has a poodle face. I hated it that way, couldn't wait for it to grow back out and never went back to that groomer. I'll post some other pics tomorrow of his "pals"; a springer, a Bernece (sp?) Mt Dog and a border collie mix.

Guess what? I just got through checking online for IAMS and Eukanuba (their other brand), and found corn is listed as one of first few ingredients there too! Geesh!
Tomorrow, when I go grocery shopping, I'm going to check out the different brands just to see what their contents are. All these 50+ years of having dogs, we've always used Purina and Pedigree, with never any health problems to our many 'babies'.. but now you have me concerned.

Suki - Thats another great idea,(log with holes drilled in it).The tool you refer to is called a spade bit or paddle bit.

In the picture its the one at the top.

Buckleysmom.......Oops i only noticed your reply just now the PawBear threw me !
so Buckley is a Cockapoo ? its a new one to me, he's certainly cute and fluffy, yep it must have looked odd with the muzzel shaved ? Molly looks as bad when i cut her down which makes it easier to dry her off as like Buckley its water i must get in, i have to put her on a lead when boating as she will jump in unexpectedly when i slow down, looking forward to seeing his Pals, oh Molly is doing some self education at the following link
http://usera.imagecave.com/Paulga/ near the bottom of the Album !

  22. Paulga.....Sorry about that, guess I confused a few people. That picture of Molly with the book is adorable! I doubt I could get Buckley to hold still long enough to get a picture like that. He'd be more interested in eating the book than reading it. I showed the pic to my friend who has a springer, actually she's had several. I think springers have the most beautiful eyes.

ROFL! I found a way to adopt those 2 kittens and if they are still there (The shelter's site says they are still there, and the shelter opens at 11 am, and we plan to get there at 11 am) then both of them are mine :-D

They are both about 1.8 pounds and look like Persian cats a little, and they look like a black and a orange furball.

    Buckleysmom........Wow what a fantastic......spectacular......and hilarious compilation
of lovable images.....nice one, and thats for Buckley ! and a friendly pat on the head to his nice friends Maggie and Joni." Springers eyes are deep pools of mystery " big pools !
poor old Hudson is going deaf this last month, just old age as she is now coming up to 14 years ( doggy years ) i think thats about 98 years human time ? i have to have a pocket full of Marrowfat Peas, to throw one at her....gently of course, to draw her attention, but it has its funny side as well, up to now i always tried sneaking up on her....and failed, she would pretend not to hear me until i got within a yard or so then jump left or right and almost smile " as they do " but now i can sneak up and say so only an Indian could do that ! thanks again for sharing the photo's as those images you should be proud to share.

Panther, I like them both. They are adorable! The orange one looks very much like my Kirby when I brought him home, 14 years ago. If my scanner was working I'd show you some of baby pictures. They are so much fun when they are kittens, especially when there are two. I had Mitchie for about a month before I decided to get Kirby. They were so hilarious to watch and play with. You're going to have a riot!
