GoodGOTD (mind if I call you Goody? :) ... I am so sorry to hear about the fire .. I can't imagine how devastating that must have been. I bet the folks here at the forum could keep their eyes open for back issues, and between all of us we could replace your collection!

like I said- I have all 3 decades on cd, with backups. after the new company took over the quality went downhill, imo.

no worries- I've got 'em back.

maizy, those tubular skylights are neat, but isn't that just for daytime? What about night time? Then just use regular lights?

Eat Well Guide ... just plug in your US or Canadian zip code and it will give you locations of local growers specializing in organic or earth-friendly growers. Ahhh ... no pesticides, no additives ... just glorious, fresh food the way it was meant to be.

WWOOF! ... started in 1971 and still going strong.

Ok, I'm an old hippie .. but the concept presented by World Wide Opportunities On Organic Farms is still intriguing.

It connects people who run organic farms with people who want to work on organic farms. Workers are given free lodging and sometimes a small allowance of sorts, but are 'paid' with valuable instruction and hands-on experience in ecologically-sound lifestyles.

For the not-yet-retired (nyah! nyah!), it's a chance to trade in life in a cubicle for life outdoors, anywhere in the world, if only for a little while. For the rest of us, it's a chance to gain or refresh skills that we can pass on to the next generation, all for the benefit of Planet Earth.
