Giveaway of the Day Forums » General discussion

  1. Q: Okay guys, you provide us with free software and you pay to software
companies, then how do YOU profit? What's the catch?

A: See those ads? Advertising helps us to keep the site alive and running.

    Q: Ok, what's the catch with this activate.exe? That's a spyware, I'm sure!

A: Activate.exe is a simple tool created to protect the software from being
registered for free after the giveaway period. You only need to run it once
per software product, and the software will connect to our web-site and get
some information from it, helping you to register your giveaway. We DO NOT
send any information from your computer.

Q: Okay, I have a problem with installation or activation, what should I do?

A: Please send us a comment with some info on the problem or head to our
technical support forums. 2 things to rememeber : first, we read all the
comments, and second - you HAVE to provide us with working e-mail address if
you want us to contact you and lend some help. E-mail addresses like
    do.not@contact.me aren't helpful at all.

Q: Hey, I have a problem with this software! Where's your tech support
    address?

A: We do not provide technical support for 3rd party programs, you need to
contact the software vendor. However, they do NOT have to provide you with
FREE technical support, this is a part of 3 important limitations for our
giveaways, please see the product download page.

Q: What are those important limitations?

A: You can see those on each product's download page at
Giveawayoftheday.com., quoting: "Please note that the software you download
and install during the Giveaway period comes with the following important
    limitations:
    1. No free technical support
    2. No free upgrades to future versions
    3. Strictly non-commercial usage"
    Also, please note that :

THIS SOFTWARE PRODUCT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND,
EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WITHOUT LIMITATION, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT
ALLOWABLE BY LAW, END USER ASSUMES THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND
PERFORMANCE OF THE DOWNLOADED SOFTWARE PRODUCT.

That basically means that we aren't responsible for any software problems,
after all, we do not make these software products.

Q: What do I do if I missed the giveaway? Send me the key, please!

A: If you missed the giveaway, you can visit the software vendor's site and
download a trial version. If you like it - you can support our software
partners and buy it from them. We are NOT sending free keys or activators to
anyone once the giveaway period is over, that's a part of our agreement with
    software companies.

Q: My computer crashed, my hard drive failed, my giveaways are gone - could
    you please replace them?

A: Sorry, but we are NOT sending free keys or activators to anyone once the
giveaway period is over, that's a part of our agreement with software
    companies.

Q: Why can't I see my comments? Are they lost?

A: No, we premoderate comments on our web-site, so just wait for the
moderator team to take a look at those. Do not use comments for advertising,
spam, "holy wars" (one product against another), racist jokes, trolling,
propaganda, personal attacks on other commenters and things like that - we
WILL DELETE such comments without any notification.

    Q: I found a bug at your web-site, what do I do?

A: Leave us a comment with the bug description and your e-mail address, our
moderator team will read it and notify our tech team. Or head to our forums
    and leave us a note.

    2 questions:
    1. Can I burn the program, including the activation.exe file, and reinstall the program at a later date if need to?
    2. Can I install the program on more then 1 computer?

  3. 1) Won't work, you have 24 hours only to install the software, otherwise it's a trial version.
    2) Yes, definitely

  4. I think this should be linked from the homepage. That way you will get less questions about how to activate software.
