Hmm, perhaps we can connect our resources somehow...I have such a burner thing, but my puter don't have the power to use it.
Didn't know that, as I bought the burner.
And then there is not much to burn, as I cant receive the tv-shows.
I ask the wise Magician, what to do now ?

    Hi.
Do you have any idea what the minimum/preferred system requirements are?
Con:If you want to use DIVX conversion, you must have *DIVX Pro* installed.

  9. Graylox use, UltraSurf
Just ignore the Chinese.....It's Google. You can search for the site or use the url if you know it.

Very easy to use. Download, put the exe in your Program Folder(or where ever you put your programs), creat a short cut from the exe and put it in your Start Menu or Desktop or even both. And away you go!:)

Being American and living in Canada, it irks me to no end to get that "must be Resident BS". I, finally, reached the end when NBC decided to cancel The Black Donnelys and show the last 4 episodes on the net only...Guess what? It was the US Resident crap. I was like.... WTH? I pay my cable bill etc... I am a BIG Kate Mulgrew..so I went searching... And found UltraSurf.

If you need an Admiral Seed, let me know. Being a Star Trek fan, I understand. Thanks to Columbia House, I have most of the TOS/TNG series as it is. Live long and prosper. :)

  16. Caution be careful at end of install as it wants to install a browser bar.

As for those that don't have a DvD burner you could always request for a free-cycled one in a group near you.

i always watch out for the "do you want to install _____ browser"(i'm paranoid about installing something i don't want), but i appreciate the warning.
    :D

also, freecycle is great. i used to belong when i lived in milwaukee. i haven't signed up yet here in tucson. i don't know why.......i think i'll go check it out.

    thanks for the reminder, lee.
    ---------------------------------
wait a second??? lee, aren't you in england? do they have freecycle there, too? darn it, if they do then i'm just too "america-centric", and i don't like to be like that.

huh, interesting- hadn't heard of that.

Did you know you can fold a usps acceptable dvd mailer from one sheet of printer paper- and it costs the same as a first-class 1-ounce letter to anywhere in the US?

Thanks for the heads up on this. As far as needing DivX Pro, check the UK computer mags as one of them gave away a full copy a few months back and I saw another was doing it just recently. It was a couple of versions old (still 6.x), but I discovered the license code also works on the newest version. I won't post the license code, so don't ask. Buy one of the magazines that is giving it away.

and the first thing DivX tech support suggests when you report a problem is to remove the new codec and revert to an older one, too.

Holy..... Four-level installer -- downloaded exe, extracted setup after that, another setup (the setup for the program itself), and then the setup engine. Also, appears that the program is GPL'd. Where's the source code?!

Still wondering what the preferred/minimum system requirements are for this beauty...

  24. Robert - best to ask Here

I think it's a case of - "It will run on almost any system - but it will always run faster on a system that is better than the one you currently have". :)

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Light Edition and the Full Edition of FairUse Wizard ?
Light Edition has the folowing limitations :
    - no iPod Video encoding
    - encoding target file size limited to 700 MB
    - no range selection
    - no quality based encoding

Furthermore, the full edition is optimised to fully exploit Dual-Core, SMP, and Hyper-Threading CPU architectures, resulting in much faster(1) encoding and has an auto-update feature not available in the light edition.

Is FairUse compatible with Windows Vista ?
FairUse is compatible with Windows Vista. If you have trouble running FU under Vista, right-click on the FairUse Wizard shortcut and check the "Run in administrator mode" box.

Is FairUse compatible with Linux ?
FairUse works just fine with Wine. If the DVD drive is not detected, you may have to enable the ide-scsi mode for the DVD drive.

FairUse comes up with a psikey.dll missing error whenever I run it. Furthermore, I can't use the DivX encoding, only XviD is available.
The psykey.dll error comes from the DivX codec itself when FairUse tries to load it. This happens because you installed the ad-sponsored version of the codec, then used some spyware removal tool like Ad-Aware that removed the "ad-support" software.
To take care of this isue, you can choose to uninstall the DivX codec, or install a fully functional version of it. With a "hacked" version of the codec you won't be able to encode with DivX since the codec won't load.

Yeah, that would be brilliant. I'd appreciate that.

I've got a little behind with reading despite having two days off from review writing. Instead I've been engrossed in my latest acquisitions, as well as devoting a little extra time with my children. I bought a copy of Lemmings Revolution ($8) which me and my daughter had an enjoyable afternoon playing, then I've been fighting in the resistance trying to rid New York of the Nazi's lol.

It's just clicked what you meant ina post you made yesterday or the day before about the alternative library. I'm gong to check that out in a few moments. Thank you very much. :)
