Recently, there's been some forum users who have been looking for tips and advice on buying printers, cameras and such. In response, other users have given their opinions and links to finding the best deals and product reviews. I thought it would be helpful to centralize all of our links for locating product deals, coupons, reviews, price protection for price drops and specialized searches. So after some discussion with other users and administration, here is that thread.

Below is my contribution. Please, add your links and opinions.

    ____________________________________________________
Please, do not post links to vendor sites.

When posting links, we must abide by the GOTD Forum Rules. Pay particular attention to the following:

#8 Shill posting (including affiliate links, or games/promotional links where the poster benefits by points or dollars etc by getting more clicks) and spam/commercial advertising is definitely not permitted. Posts suspected or known as such will be removed or updated to reflect this fact.

#9 Users who post in these forums, only as an opportunity to promote their own commercial site, will probably result in all their posts being removed. If you wish to advertise, consider offering your products as a daily giveaway instead.

Please report any posts/links in this thread that are suspect of breaking the forum rules.

  5. Everyone likes a bargain, if you goto places like regnow you can pick it up (software that is) a lot cheaper than via the website.

The amazon deal is great, you just got to keep checking close of day for 30 days to make sure you can get some monies back.

Not had one yet, hopefully will soon.

Lee - All of the price protector sites will notify you via email if there is a price drop. I used Price Protector in November when I bought a camera at Amazon. The price came down 3X and each time I received an email from Price Protector. I notified Amazon ASAP and each time my credit card balance was credited within 24 hours. I saved a total of over $10! I've also saved a couple of bucks on other purchases. :)

Boy maizy.. you sure compiled that list quickly!! It's GREAT! You really DO know how to put things together, so again I'm quoting your statement "I am fairly new to forums and not too certain on how they are structured or what works well". To use an old saying, "You've come a long way baby"!! LOL *-)

I'm afraid that by following up on all the links we're getting here, who has time to play their favorite games? Just kidding, of course!

  9. Price!pinx is about saving you money with just one click. How? You tell us the products you want to buy online, we monitor the price, and send you a price drop alert right away. So easy! It is a free service my aunt uses. Comes in handy for buying PC parts/ cameras etc. She uses it a lot. It's only US unless it changed recently.

And if you are going to buy anything on line check out BBBOnLine a free service or for brick and mortars
Better Business Bureaus for both US and CA.

    nonprofitshoppingmall.com, everyday giving starts here.

Everybody likes to get %%% sales discount.
Here is a great opportunity (for our US friends) to give these discounts to nonprofit-organisations of your flavour. I'm sure, there is something similar for other regions. Because I have Fibromyalgia I have chosen the National Fibromyalgia Association as an example. http://www.fmaware.org/site/PageServer
    From the homesite:
"I found a great way to support our favorite causes. By shopping from this site, a portion of every dollar we spend goes directly to a nonprofit organization that we choose. This site has all our favorite stores - with their same great products, services and prices and no extra fees. Best of all, we get a hand in directing who benefits from the shopping we already do. It's so easy to use we should start here for everything we buy online."
