   Hello Buddy and everyone here,

   I don't know why I been not able to download GOTD softwares since yesterday. I normally relay firefox to download to my winzip and activate. Before it went well until yesterday and today. I type exactly what the error say and thanks to check out for me and advise me. I double check both my IE and Fox.. enable cookie for even the wiki server too.Firefox did not seems to 'block' access. (Try IE also have same problem) Mine is Win XP Home. Really appreciate any advise. I don't want to miss out GOTD goodies please..... (sob...)

   " Activation module failed to connect to giveawayoftheday.com. Software activation is not possible at the moment. Please try again later or check your firewall setting.

   I think you mean BuBBy.

   I was getting the 504 Gateway Timeout Error yesterday on both Firefox and IE.

   Haven't downloaded today due to lack of interest!

   Did you try at a later time? Were you running to close to the deadline for the Giveaway?

   It could have happened at the same time as the servers went down.

   If you had downloaded the Zip file already, then you were connected. I am guessing at this! Then "when" you unzipped and tried to activate, it could have caused the error you quoted.

   The site was down several times yesterday for varying lengths of time. Not sure about today. Only BuBBy can confidently predict tomorrow.

   Hi Suki and RunesageMagi thanks so much for advise,

   If it is due to 'tech' problems from GOTD, hope it will resolve really really soon. Cos I actually need to dl some good backup sw as my Win "NTI' software 'refuse' to backup my disk so I am in 'danger' of losing all my stuffs again anytime. I tried believe 20 times yesterday in different time. And I am 1000% sure is not 'last minutes' (is either my morning or afternoon time). I even uninstall and reinstall Fox , went to MSoft to update patches and stuffs..

   IE as well, follow all advises read from some previous thread (uncheck work offline, setting etc............ errr.. .just won't work. I manage to get the zip file from dl but just this 'firewall setting' stuff pops up and decline the activation. Have no problem dl softwares from other site e.g MSN . Please give me more advise anyone cos GOTD now is 'part' of my daily lifestyle. (sob.............)

   Yuhoo..............! I manage to activate today's software now. I like to thanks you for showing so much concern for replying my email. I try one more time (after another prayer from God). It works. I will try again tomorrow and will hope things work normal again. I sincerely pray for all those have the same 'problem' like me that yours will work too. Thank U ! Thank U ! Thank U ! :P Love u guys..... !

   that exact thing happened to me- downloaded, grabbed a gallon of coffee, and got 504's or timeouts, activate and forums both.

   Ok I promise to 'come back' to share how my download today. However today's sw I am not 'interested' so I will see tmr and share if I dl. Tks . So goodgotd if you still can't dl today let me know here and I will love to share whatever I have tried earlier to make my dl normal again. I understand how upset when we can't dl again. Or no harm to say a little prayer and God will love to help. :) Take care

   Hi,

   I just realised (after wondering to myself - "who the heck is Buddy") you were probably referring to me. LOL.

   Thankfully the others have answered quite correctly. (I have a smart crew of tech minions here - work well for no pay) We all get those 504 errors (including me).

   Usually my solution is to wrap tin foil around my head and rapidly rock backwards and forwards muttering "not long now, not long now" - and before long... It's fixed. So far to date, it has always worked for me, never failed.

   I'm always glad to pass on the solution for a problem I have no control over.

   i'll try it next time. it seems better than obsessively hitting refresh over and over again, which has been my method to date.

    BuBByCo, I believe the rocking back and forth is called "stemming", but your aluminum foil hat suggests deeper problems. GAOTD was down for quite a while yesterday morning (tomorrow morning where you are) but I'm really interested in seeing how GAOTD treats the changeover to/from daylight savings time come 2AM my time. (if the winds don't kill the power... we've experienced stronger winds today than they get at the CA/Tijuana border crossing after a burrito festival!)

    I promise to come back and share my experience whether my dl is back to normal. Thank God that it is ok. Especially today's software is what I need. Sorry Bubby for spelling your name wrongly :P. Thank you guys/ladies for all your quick help. Good day. :)
