Weather Lord -Hidden Realms

For the first time I've experienced an issue with a GOTD game. Weather Lord: Hidden Realms is a decided improvement over the original (which I abandoned about halfway through), but I cannot proceed past level 19. I finish that level and the game locks up, must ALT+TAB out and kill the process in Task Manager; restart and I'm at level 19 again, play it again, finish again, and it locks up again.

System is Vista 32, 2gig; UAC and DEP disabled; and I install nothing in Program Files (in fact my games are on a different HD from the OS).

Thanks. In the course of playing this level at least a dozen times I've finished the tasks in different order, gotten gold time, silver time, even let the clock run out as I pondered this. (And with UAC disabled all programs are "run as administrator".) Can't believe the vid card/drivers are an issue as this system reliably runs MS Flight Sim, Torchlight II, Euro Truck Sim 2, etc.

At least it is a known problem and not unique to my system, so I assume a coding error whose severity is system dependent.
