No, it's not part of any appliance.

looks rather like the intersection of cushions or cushion and beading on a vinyl-covered chair.

BTW, another difference between the portland spurge and this wood spurge- the portland in dorcet the sub-blossoms open vertically- parallel to each other, leaving the center clear, this one they open horizontally- across the original center.

Goody, not part of a cushion. This object is very common. I'm sure everyone here has more than one.

    maybe I do and maybe I don't.

but now I look closer, this looks like a roller junction or 2 rolled edges.

    this the normal overall color?

Yes, that's the normal color throughout everything that's visible. They come in different sizes and color, but this is a common color.

I'm telling you, you have some of these.

Is this part of a window covering? Like levelors, or mini blinds, or window shades?

copmom, no, again. I only have mini blinds in one window and only curtains on the rest of the windows. This object is more common than those.

Buckleysmom here (using hubbys pc and can't remember my login).

Maizey.....it kinda looks like the back of a computer disk box or recipe file box, but at that angle it would have to be standing on it's side/end. The left part being the lid. But then I don't know what the little "pin" thing would be. How about a size hint?

BK, AKA "PawBear" - No not part of a disk or file box.

Everyone, even those without modern gadgets, has some of these if they live in any type of a conventional home. By that I mean they do not live in a cave, tepee, mud hut or something like that. They are usually seen in groups of 2 or 3, but not real close together.

FYI, if you live in an old mobile home (or travel trailer) they come in ones- aka 'piano hinge', and a pita they are to adjust.

I rather liked 'the incredible machine' series.

You're right, I forgot about them having the piano hinges.

I liked the incredible machine games too. It's been awhile since I've played. Can't remember if I had them on a Widows 3.1 or 95 system.

not plumbing. though to clarify things, urologists' offices come real close since that's the second thing they want each visit, a urine sample.
