    Hey, Goody! I didn't really get that one. That's not at all what I had in mind when I guessed. I suppose you just got tired of waiting. LOL

    Thanks for the pics. I never saw an artichoke flower before. :)

    Congratulations Maizey! I'm soooooo glad somebody got that one. It was a bit trickey. :)

    Goody: The artichoke looks like the bull thistle because it is another variety of thistle. They are one my favorite foods too. I've never seen one in full bloom before either. Very cool.

    actually, rambling off that link, I found that what I have here is actually Cotton thistle, AKA Scots thistle or Scotch thistle. bull thistle may be a local nickname. wonder how they taste?

    maizey, could that be part of your fireplace insert, like a draft adjuster?

    do read below, you might find something interesting for your canon powershot camera.

    Hey, Goody! I didn't really get that one.

    sure you did- it is a can opener, just an unusual variant.

    ==off topic at an angle===

    next- we ought to take this to the warning do not read thread- but your cam is also on the 'go' list-

    I'm still woozy from amazement overload, so check out the CHDK Wiki (faq entry point) yourself and suggest where else to post the info... 'before you buy a digital camera' perhaps?

    talk about Flexible Rubber Cameras, things canon didn't quite do as well as they might have, (full range realtime battery meter?) not to mention features some much higher end cameras only wish for. woof!

    Hi Goody! It's not any part of a fireplace. This is something that just about everyone should have in one form or another.

    I was already aware of the CHDK Wiki. I found that prior to buying my camera. I haven't tried any of the firmware yet. I'm going to have to check what version my camera has in it. It will only work with certain versions. Then I should make sure that I can revert, if necessary. I may give it a shot. Thanks for reminding me. :)

    another logout-lockout. real simple to check firmware version, and if like me you already have a supported version, CHDK is ram-resident, doesn't change the oem firmware at all.

    still thinking on what you've found to bedevil me- payback for the can spout, isn't it?

    paper towel holder?

    Goody, I'm happy you are not able to guess this thing quickly! But, No, it's not a payback. And it's NOT a paper towel holder. It's even more common than that! :)
