no, this piece is a smooth curve up to the left (the sample is roughly the center of it) that flattens to the right, with a groove along the inside of the curve. has nothing to do with water, is somewhat related to an earlier what is it.

    ~ 10" wide and 4' long, 2" thick, perhaps..

that's it, this is the ramp that brings the bowling ball up from the covered track between the lanes and up to the holding circle at a convenient height to pick up and hurl down the lane again.

here's more sword ferns, a tiny sweet pea blossom and an unfolded bloom- there are some above that are still folded.

Goody, thank you, again. Did you use your new paddle method for those shots? The details are really crisp and clear.

yep, still have some kinks to work out, but when I get it right the results are amazing.

Gee Goody, we're going to have to start calling you the botanist with all those great floral pictures you're taking!

Well, I figure 'reminder shots' of buildings and people aren't going to mean much to anyone but me, or be enjoyed- so I post the ones I think are pretty or at least interesting.

'The botanist' would be a good joke, since I still rarely have much of a clue what the stuff is- the landscapers keep swapping out the plants and never leave the ID stakes. and don't stick around to explain!

Anybody else have long breaks when this site logs you off and refuses to log you back in?

It did that to me this morning, the long breaks that is. Maybe we're all overloading the site?

dunno. I was wondering if it was because I have a ff tab on-site pretty much 24/7.

my wife made the same botanist joke last night when I walked in with a stalk of cleavers and told her it was edible, a good source of vitamin C and had medical uses too. besides being prolific as a weed and having neat little flowers.

I'm still trying to find out if the nigella damascena here in town has the same spice and medical uses as nigella sativa. yes or no, I'm gonna try seeding some since they're interesting and hardy. but it would be nice to know.

I like to try and keep learning and gathering information even if I do have to take more notes now.

Goody. Do you dump your browser cache occasionally? If you reload pages a lot and run a lot of tabs it helps a bit. I also have some problems with this site too, but the problem lately has been web-wide. There are some bad-ass site and isp hackers running wild as of late.

yeah, in fact often I turn off the cache for long periods- it helps working with accessing the router admin and settings. $&@#@^@^$ 3com.

well, since it has no sharp edges, no moving parts, no soft spots, 10 areas around the edge just like this, (plus 4 larger and like 20 smaller holes), is somewhere about 6 feet long and perhaps 18 inches wide, couple of inches thick... none of the above.

it's name sounds like something in a nationally televised sport, and is a very specialized item- but you've probably seen variants of it used in various movies and on TV- older ones weren't plastic but they keep improving them.

    confused yet?
