I am looking for a software or a webservice that allows me to record/download Real video streams (*.rm). Are there any freewares that do this?

  2. Hey Paali,

You could try Orbit download manager. http://www.orbitdownloader.com/ It comes with an application called Grab++ that will allow you to download streaming media. I know this works great on You Tube and other steaming sites. I am not sure how it works on .rm since I have never tired to download this format before. Yes it is free!

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tip Jaddis. I installed it, and it seemd to recognize the filetype. But the program crashes every time I try to download the .rm file. I tried with some .ram streams. It didn't crash, but I couldn't download the entire stream, only the link.
Perhaps it's just me who can't figure it out, but it didn't seem to work with .rm files...

Paali, I've used the last freeware version of Net Transport for years to download .ra streams to my hard drive. Since I'm on dialup it's quicker to download (archived) programs than it is to stream them realtime, plus I can listen to them anytime. There may be better programs available but since it handles the rtsp:// and pnm:// protocols it should do what your looking for, available here: http://www.321download.com/LastFreeware/page9.html
