If you have yet to notice, todays giveaway is top class, IMHO.
I did notice an error in it's make-up.
I have emailed the authors, they quickly replied and said it should be fixed soon.
I hope we get it fixed.
Error is, when you set a default folder for your output, it changes back to
default after you set your own default when you close, then open the application.
I hope we get a new build soon.

I like the look of this - I want it : BUT:
After I have downloaded it and I enter the reg number, the 2 small windows freeze on my screen and the only way I can clear them is via task manager.
Tried uninstalling/reinstalling with the same result. [twice]
Now trying for 3rd time. Anyone else getting this problem?
Any suggestions?
Needless to say, it says 'unregistered' when I restart it.
Read Comment 56 - Basically try resetting your screen DPI from 120 to 96.

dumb question time- what's the big deal with stripping sound out of videos? converting sound, ok.. but tv program audio? over?

I see the youtube-to-mp3 freebies and generally go "why?"
those HouseMD videos I downloaded are music videos with pictures of the movies - look and listen
Could someone point me toward a discussion that explains why and when I would want to change the Bitrate and Rate?

question does this only convert to mp3 or does it go to the other formats too?

It seems I'm the only one with this problem. I can put the files onto the window and the status bar moves along. A "ding" sounds and the window opens where it's to output to. The only file there however, regardless how many files I put in is "Register.dat" I don't know what to do with this and there isn't any other files there. Any ideas?
vadershero: FWIW, this happened to me when I tried to convert files of an unsupported type (MID). The software appeared to be doing something, and dinging when it was done, but I guess it's just not programmed to say if one is trying to do something that won't work.

Yes, just re-register the program will do.
Just received email, due to time difference one was asleep when it came.
O.K. I have installed it, however, when you select your own default folder, make sure you convert a file to that folder so it stays as your own default.
I opened it after installation, changed default, then closed it, it was back to app default.
So I converted a file to my default and closed it and opened it, my default stuck.
Thanks to the authors of this app, it's the best I have used.
vadershero play a little with the sliders, set the bitrate Kbps and Rate Hz higher; that worked for me.

O.K. goodgotd, let me try to explain:
as our or mine generation is not raised with music videos, it took some time for me to recognize, how useful those film snibbles can be, even if I don't want to look all day at House sorry House. So I downloaded the .flv, extracted the music and sorry again House deleted most of the snibble-films. Now I can hear the music on my mp3 player even in the bathroom without consulting the doctor.

@APB- so how does one know when a YT video is of the correct format?
Ok. *my* problem is I have very few music videos I didn't get the songs for first. and the few I didn't generally have extra non-music sounds embedded.
Add to that the way I've handled video- generally with tools like autogordian knot and the CL tools it drives- and my first thought would be to simply demultiplex it. (split the audio and video to separate files)
next thought would be to run a recorder app while playing it.
@Parrot-Head- youtube vids are flv flash video- all good. .MID files are midi sequencer files, not truly sound files, although some have samples inside.
Well, the only thing that happens when I drop in a YT video is hear a ding after about 2 seconds, and see a "register" file inside the output folder...nothing else. I have no idea why.
Tried the new version link with the same code and was told its "invalid".

Well FABScott you could always email the company and explain what happened.
Maybe they will favour your circumstances and sort-you-out.
Additionally,
my original version now says "unregistered".
