Access violation at address 04087BB3 in module 'Greedy Spooks.exe'. Read of address 00000034.

this freezes the screen as the green skull gem moves to position 5. going back into the game returns you to the game that gets this item. how do i get to the next level?

I got the exact same error at the same point. You hear a "bong" as the green skull moves but it never quite gets to it's final position when the error occurs.

Pinion 5 is actually level 10 of the game. I have to go to the Task Manager and cancel the game to get out of it and when I go back in, I'm at the same level.

I have had this happen twice so it is a consistent problem.

    For general reference:

I am running 32 bit Vista Ultimate on a 2.4 GHz processor with 2 GB memory.

Is there a fix for this problem? The game was fixed once with all the complaints about slow running.

I also noted that my scores are not saved in the list of high scores but I'm more after levels than points.

I'll leave the game here for now in the hopes of a fix. I obviously can't go any farther right now!

  3. I encountered the same error in the same spot. I too am hoping they fix this bug. It's a shame as it is a beautiful game.

    More info!

I tried using compatibility mode - no change. I tried to do it without the "story" and the only change that made is the error came from "Greedy Spooks~1.exe" instead of "Greedy Spooks.exe"

I have removed the shortcut from my active list until such time as this problem is corrected. I would love to know how far this story goes but I guess I can't, at least not now.

Some info which may be helpful, to remove the company website from opening upon closing the game, delete the 'wdata' folder inside of the game directory. Voila, that issue solved.

Unfortunately I am also getting this same error message at the same spot as others here, so obviously the game code is still buggy. Any chance the game supplier could be made aware of it and re-offer the game with the coding error corrected?
