  4. There is an updated file available for download, go try again.

Some people should also read the readme.txt file that comes in the compressed package.

    Installation

Unzip the package you`ve downloaded and install the software by running
Setup.exe. Please, make a note of where the game is installed (there won't be
any desktop shortcut created). By default game installs to C:\Games\.

Therefore it does not need an uninstall file, you not want it anymore, then delete the folder.

  5. Hello everybody! We’ve updated the download - you won’t be troubled by nasty question signs anymore. So if you’re getting “Giveaway period is over” message, simply re-download the game package (new file is - ‘Americanbilliard(upd).zip’). Sorry for the inconvenience!

  6. Lee......

" Some People " should check out the offerings by actually installing them
    before offering them maybe?
as far as the " readme.txt" instructions about just deleting the folder?
    not sufficient!!!!
following those instructions "does NOT" remove registry entries etc....

    Can you " read that" ? ;-)

I'll try the new download. thanks

You have to install it before the Giveaway offer for the software is over.

    Terms and conditions

Please note that the software you download and install
during the Giveaway period comes with the following important limitations:
    1) No free technical support
    2) No free upgrades to future versions
    3) Strictly non-commercial usage

vilulf, I'm gonna take a wild guess here based on a few years PC experience and posit that if an appl/game lacks an uninstall file (unins000.exe), and ADD/REMOVE doesn't find anything to REMOVE, then you're likely looking at a self-contained program that doesn't fiddle and tweak system files and thus removal is accomplished simply by deleting the program itself.

This is a very good billiard program. To my ear, the sounds they're using make it seem as if I'm standing in my game room; since my pool table is presently covered with tax papers and piles of laundry, this makes a dang nice substitute! My only complaints so far are of design... the apparent inability to change/finesse stroke angle once you've committed to drawing back the stick, and the need to take your eye off the table to glance at the power meter. Wish they provided a heads-up display (i.e., semi-opaque numbers hovering ON the cue tip). I had the same complaint about the minigolf game offered a week or so ago, so don't pay me no nevermind. (Note to Mangoette: not the same exact complaint since I don't use a pool cue on the putt putt course.)

vilulf, uninstallers almost never clean up registry entries created by an installed program. (Un)Installers generally remove only what they've created directly. Programs often create files and registry entries when they are first run, which the installer knows nothing about, so... your argument is only argumentative. If you've never cleaned it up manually I can pretty much guarantee your registry is full of entries from long 'uninstalled' programs.

I posted message 57 on the game page regarding the 'installation' and the registry key, I will add that the key data isn't bloated and isn't anything to worry about deleting, any more than the junk from a hundred other installs. I also noted the clean and safe nature of this game and I'll second that statement here. No worries.

A note to everyone: I speak confidently because I monitor all software using system snapshot utilities, which allow me to see every change in the file system (files on the hard drive) or the registry (the windows database for program settings). I take a snapshot before and after installing a program and another set before and after running the installed program (and sometimes a snaphot after each of the first few runs of program). By comparing snapshots I can see what has been changed or added along the way, and am thus able to archive or delete all such things. I'd recommend similar tactics for anyone with moderate technical knowledge and a healthy sense of paranoia.

I was very suspicious of Giveaway of the Day at first, but was pleased to discover their setup files are as clean and well behaved as any software I've seen. Keep on keepin' on GOTD!

I'd like to point to revo uninstaller as a simpler, alternative (not perfect- no uninstall, tricky.) method to what ZF and I seem to do.

    regshot is close enough..

    but backups are better long-term.
