   Several months ago I think it was, I downloaded Nero from GOTD and it worked well. However, I had a question which I posted on their forums. I got a reply to my mailbox from nero asking what version it was so I went to the programme and tried to see what version it is. I could not see any place where the version might be stated but, while there, it asked me if I wanted to check for updates. I clicked yes, to check. It downloaded updates then told me to reboot. I did, and Nero is now gone, wiped out.

   Now, I knew it was not eligible for support or updates but it offered, I accepted and now it is gone. Frankly I am disappointed and let down because I liked the programme. I thought the update might fail. I didn't think it would erase my programme. Is this normal for GOTD programmes?

   I don't remember Nero being available from here.

   You must have got it from some where else d00d.

   Buddyboy, this whole things sounds rather strange to me! This is not normal for GOTD programs, and I don't remember Nero ever being offered on here either. What's even more strange is that Nero contacted you about it to find out the version?? And for future reference, you can usually find what a version is by clicking on "help and then about" on programs.

   I have been contacted quite often by Ashampoo because I did have to go to their site and send them my email to get registered for a program offered on GOTD, but that's the only place that emails me.

   Oops. I thought I got it form GOTD but not so. It came with my computer and I have the disk too. Silly me. I'll have to chase up the vendor. Sorry.
