    Thanks, Mr. B., for filling in for me last night. I don't like posting something that sounds like FUD and then leave but I had no choice. As I was searching for the Wilder's Security thread, our power went "Poof". It can be so much fun living near Lake Erie as the storms come in fast and furious at times, especially during the winter. And then, sometimes even, the storms from Lake Ontario decide to pay us a visit. We live about 10 mins from Buffalo, NY and I am sure some of you have seen some of the storms we have gotten in the past years on the news.

    As I said, I was not really searching for all this..I was looking for ratings and found this. I do NOW vaguely remember the thread on BBR but since I didn't use Kaspersky I just glanced over it. I lurk there; hardly post, since I know nothing.

    Some it affects; others nothing.

    Not working!
    One day passed and still no email from that site.
    Maybe the free license was a limited offer and is already over by now. :-(

    Very strange... didn´t work with my usual email-address.
    But worked with a free trash mail service. Oo
    Email came within a few seconds. :)

    Better be fast. I think this offer actually is limited and will end tomorrow.

    Just wanted to say thank you to everybody for all the info.
    Especially Mr.B for the analysis, the Ambassador for the links, K8 for starting it.
    Since 2006 we've been switching all PCs & Laptops to Kaspersky. Of course(!) we knew nothing about the problems and potential conflicts.

    Since this thread started we've been reading and following the links, now all nicely tucked into my BM.

    Ah well; this offer expired at 18:00 (GMT +8) today (10am this morning here in the UK), so there's no point in registering on the Chinese website any more as you will not be able to get the free license.
