Hi, I am in a video gameing class at my local community college and was wondering if anyone knew how to get 3ds Max for free? Or a atleast 4 month trial?

I dont really want to pay $3,300 (i can get it for $150 from some college discount places) for a 14 month version.

I tried Gmax and it isnt the same.

If you want a good free 3D modeler, try Wings3D:

The best free 3D software is SketchUp. Google bought the company about 18 months ago. It's addicting. Try it.

  4. Sketchup is great, free version or pro version, is well worth the price.

I assume you can't afford the $150 for a 14 month trial? I'm suprised Autodesk doesn't have an educational offering. Have you contacted them?

My teacher is trying to work with them to offer a 5 month trial. But i live about 1 hour away from the campus and dont want to spend alot in gas to get there, to work on a less powerful pc then mine.

Autodesk has a 30-day trial offer. I know it's a bit short of the 4-months you need it, but it's someplace to start.

    Of course, I don't know if it's a full-trial version either. Sorry.

Give it a try! I might work again. And if not, at least it gives you 30-days to come up with $150. :-)

and to the free version of 3ds max
ARe you crazy. if they offered a free version of it they would go out of buisness (no offense)
I wouldn't mind if they went free though.
