Hi all, I am so happy to have discovered GAOTD!!

I downloaded the Magnifying Glass Pro and read the readme which said to run the activate.exe first. I did so and it said it was successful. Then I ran the setup.exe but it is still showing as a shareware 30 day free trial version.

Any ideas on what is going on?

    Thank you!

  2. I'm on a mobile device so I can't check it but if you'll check the folder you downloaded I'll bet you'll find a readme doc with the registration info in it. If not someone else will jump in and help you.

Also during activation or installation you'll see a small box apear with the registration info contained in it.

This is what the program says, "it is a trial version. I can use it for 30 days",
    WOW!

  7. lyn - I think you must hold the record... for something... (I'm not sure exactly for what just yet)

Yes it does say - you can use the trial for 30 days - and then it needs to be registered.

Now... (deep slow breathing) Down the bottom of that screen in Bold Black writing - Registered to user: Giveawayoftheday

    ie. It is registered.

For future reference - sometimes you need patience. :) (Some of us are doing a dozen things at once right now, and will get to you in turn).

Thanks, Bubba, but you have to admit it is confusing, by saying "I can use it for 30 days."

  9. Most of these type of programs will use that type of description.

The program is shareware which can be used for 30 days. If you want to continue to use it, you will need to register.

Which is true. But by running Activate.exe - you skip directly to "Stage 2" and have a Registered program from the outset.

So the statement is still true - it's NOT saying that THIS COPY of the program will run for 30 days - just that ANY COPY that HASN'T BEEN REGISTERED will only run for 30 days.

Regardless what you might read from other user comments - EVERY SINGLE PROGRAM is offered with the ability to be fully registered and unlocked. (If GOTD has stuffed up - then it won't work for ANYBODY)

If the program remains UNREGISTERED or a TRIAL - then you have missed something (re-read the README.TXT) - and should look if anyone else has posted asking for help - if not - create a new topic and ask.

(There are a lot of users who get a little tired of seeing -in the comments- each day, new users telling everyone it is "a trial" - when everyone else is already working just fine).

If you can't get it working, and are feeling frustrated - just tell yourself - "It's not the software... It's me." :P Then jump in these forums and we will do what we can to help.

  10. I downloaded and installed this software. I downloaded then unarchived the files. Then I read the "README" doc for instructions which stated to run activate.exe then run setup.exe. Both ran and installed perfectly and there is no 30 day trial.

I don't know what happened but the files are correct and installed perfectly.
