   I do like getting free stuff and for the most part this site rocks but muveeNow was not delivered as advertised. You removed my comment from the comment section of muveeNow so I am posting here now.

   Here is the pattern I followed to install the software - Just like any other software from you:

   I download it
   I unzip it
   I run Activate.exe
   I run Setup.exe

   And it should work right? It probably does if you install it and ‘run’ it in the free time frame but if you just install it without ‘running’ it then it will only work in trial mode.

   According to your readme.txt file attached to the zip file, I only had to install the software. I did that in the necessary time frame. I did not run it as I did not have time to explore it then.

   Today, I did have the time, and I wanted to look at it. However, it only works in 21-day free trial mode…why is that?

   You guys either need to change your readme.txt or make it so freebies work as advertised.

   So now tell me…how do I get this out of trial mode? I followed your instructions, so you owe me a free one!

   Hello Mad Ape...I am also a user here and I D/L Muvee and had a great time with it. I went and checked the unzip file for you to see what your problem might have been, because I was thinking there was a registration key with this one. Yep, there were two text files with this give-away, one telling you the steps to perform if you wanted a free copy of Muvee and the other included the registration key.

   FIRST TEXT FILE:

   Installation

   Unzip the package you`ve downloaded and install the software,
   then run Activate.exe and copy the Product key. Register the software using the given info.

   You have to install it before the Giveaway offer for the software is over.

   Terms and conditions

   Please note that the software you download and install
   during the Giveaway period comes with the following important limitations:
   1) No free technical support
   2) No free upgrades to future versions
   3) Strictly non-commercial usage

   SECOND TEXT FILE:

   egister your copy using following data:

   Product key:

   xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx

   See, everything you needed to make Muvee yours to keep... now they did miss the "R" in register, but I think it was still understandable as what needed to be done.

   Always read the text files Mad Ape, each piece of software is unique and may need a different process to register it properly. It is best, even if you are in a hurry to get on with your day to take a few seconds to read the tx files that comes with the zip file. It is really best to install and check that everything works right after D/L'ing as if there are problems with the software, there could possibly be changes in the software in the 24 hour giveaway period, which could lead to registration problems.

   Sorry you missed out, but don't be too upset, there is another day and they will probably offer another movie maker(this one is the second one I've tried)or this one may be offered again at a later date. At that time, please read and reread the text files included to received the "free" software that you are owed.:)

   I got stung by this also. (and it has happened before with another giveaway).

   The problem is with the software developer that does their own dodgy bodgy with the Product Key at their end when you first run the program.

   I have installed, activated, then didn't get around to actually running a program until the following day, when the Product key had been nuked.

   So it would be good if this could be rectified, if not - take my card. I'm thinking of starting a support group for users who have had the door slammed shut on their fingers, seconds after the giveaway finished.

   Wow, I didn't know that running the program before the time expired was required to have and keep the GAOTD.
   So far I have been lucky because the 1st thing I do after I install a GAOTD is to run it to make sure it is the full, registered copy and not a trial.

   Still, thank you for the heads up. Every little piece of information like this one is what can make the difference between a successful GAOTD installation and a bad surprise the day after!

   Normally it isn't required. muvee2 was the second giveaway that I am aware of it being required.

   I am calling BS on what you said. I am sitting here looking at the zip file contents and there are only 3 files.

   Activate.exe
   Setup.exe
   Readme.txt

   To quote Readme.txt:

   All that this says is that I have to install the software.

   This is not a good way to do business. In effect this is misleading advertising.

   Oh well I gave giveawayoftheday.com a chance to come good. They didn't, so now the Mad Ape will unleash his fury.

   My instructions? Hey I missed out too :( (Remember I might be the best looking moderator in this topic, but I am still just a user who is subject to the same giveaway conditions as everyone else)

   To be fair - all of the giveaways have to be activated - but usually just getting the serial# is sufficient. I wasn't expecting that serial# to become useless the minute the giveaway finished (which is not the fault of GOTD)

   MadApe, I'm not sure how you get it for free - you could hang around their website and start throwing bananas.

   Maybe a polite email explaining exactly what happened (but... gee... I don't know).

   Mad Ape, you were right, I was wrong. I forgot I put the text file with the reg number in my unzip file. I went and checked the zip file and it is as you say, just the three files. I had downloaded, activated, installed and waited until later to actually run the program. I still think it is a good idea to activate and install right away when I get the software(and usually take the time to run the program in case there is a problem that would require some time to straighten out before the giveaway is over).I tend to back everything up until I know it is functioning properly...so that is why I had three files in my Muvee unzip folder.
   I am sorry that you missed out, but as I said before, don't feel too bad as giveaway.com will more than likely offer another movie making software before too long. This one wasn't the first and probably won't be the last. The next one might be better than Muvee Now. Muvee has styles that are set and has no way to change them so you have to order more styles if you want more variety than what is in the basic package(plus the two free ones on their site). Bubby is right, this forum isn't giveaway.com... we are members(of the forum)just like you.

    Sorry Samnash,
    The softwares given here are only able to get registered for free here within the 24 hours that they are being offered. The product key is no longer valid to register the software after the 24 hour giveaway. Though the product will remain registered as long as you never uninstall it or sometimes system restore your computer to a date before it was installed or you restore your hard drive.
    According to the posting before yours this software was given away 6 months ago and you say you're on a 21 day trial. I take it you recently got this software somewhere else. Just giving you the product key from here won't work. It also would need to be activated by GAOTD and the activation is invalid after the 24 hour giveaway period.
    Keep checking back each day because sometimes GAOTD repeats a lot of the software given and sometimes are updated versions. but as a word of advice, always read the txt file that comes with the download because GAOTD has different ways to register for different programs.
