We installed Kittens yesterday so my children are very excited for Puppies today but there does not seem to be a way to change install directory, it MUST go to C:\Program Files however my C: drive does not have enough room, I install all apps to other drives and directories. How can I force the install to allow me to choose where it will install, like Kittens did yesterday?
Thanks for the great games! Keep up the great work!
I LOVE Puppies - install dir.

I agree 100% about the install folder (and drive) being a user choice.
I'm working on it as we type. (well actually I'm typing, and I'll be working on it when I stop this). BTW - What version of Windows are you running (this is important). XP or Vista or (gasp) earlier?
update: I might have a solution - just testing the install now.

If you have any room on C: you can always install it to the location its forcing then move it to whatever drive you want. Then all you have to do is recreate the shortcut to the new location of the exe file.

You can use a tool such as SysInternals' "Junction"
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896768.aspxOf course, you need to be running Win2000, XP or Vista - and the file system needs to be NTFS (and not FAT32).
Then you can do the following. (This is brief - because I need to go offline shortly).
(also this is easiest from a command window)
create a "target folder" on your D: drive - such as D:\Puppy
create a "source folder" on your C: drive - MUST BE C:\Program Files\I LOVE Puppiesrun the junction program (accept the license agreement blah blah blah)
Junction "C:\Program Files\I Love Puppies" D:\Puppy
you should get a message saying the junction point was created - and targetted at D:\Puppy
Run the setup - it will be "targetted" to D:\Puppy
When all is finished - go back to the command line and delete the junction - type
Junction -d "C:\Program Files\I Love Puppies"
You can then move the game somewhere else on the D: drive - and update the game shortcuts.
(Sorry it's brief - and a little bit "hands on" - but I am in a screamer of a hurry).
If this all sounds like greek - just say - I'm sure someone else can take my notes and walk you through it - or I should be back in a few hours.

Thanks for all the comments! The system this would run on is XP. I will try the Junction trick - thanks BuBBy!
