Now it opened it, and started to verify it, but then it says that it has an error writing it. I know it is not tru, or isobuster would have found it or windrar would not say it is ok. It must be my hardware, but it has never happened before. Sometimes cd-r give me trouble, but never with the rw's. Besides, it pases all the other tests. weird.

Now it is writing with the cd writer. I got my fingers crossed

I am sorry to say that the burn engine of DoubleSafety is not XP friendly. I have sound hardware with latests drivers and good media which can be proven because all the other burners I have (Nero, Sonic, Alcohol) where able to burn the manually created zip file.

It seems this software only works if the backup is done to a disk, their burning engine is not XP friendly. I can live with that. It still saves me the trouble to keep track of what's backed up and what's not. Then i burn the files manually. I still can create sets of backups and use all the other options. It is still a winner for me.

If the purpose of this service is testing software and get some feedback then my feedback is that like the ftp feature, the cd/dvd feature needs more work. Also, the .zip extension is not used and the backup file looks like a orphan file (no progs work on it when clicked).

  6. keithm: It's activate.exe that makes it full. You can reinstall the thing as many times as you like, but the registration info is put in by activate.exe. And yes, it is in there (I still have a copy of the ZIP file in my storage archive). Remember activate.exe is NOT in the folder you installed to. It is in the ZIP archive. I hope this helps for future giveaways.

Thanx tjchan for your help. I normally unzip to folder and activate and activate.exe is not one of the files created.(don't normally view zip archived files).
I've done it and viola the activate file is there - past its activation time limit.

I have downloaded a program for backups from a good site called vnunet.com, as discussed by a memeber and the program is free - Cobian black moon.
