    Hello,

Delenn13, you are absolutely right about starting a new thread. I was actually thinking about it, but instead I the the next best thing. I contacted Paragon and they are helping me figure out what the problem is :) Not many companies worry about the 'little people' who use their free software. They are really nice folks.

I am not sure what is going on because I am getting everything as it should, the email with the password and all that. I'll keep you posted as things develop.

The download link at nvu.net or whatever for paragon drive copy personal 8 has not been working for several days through tonight, but i was able to get the program, labelled demo, and a newer trial of version 8.5 from a couple of sites i found just by googling the name of the program. i'd much prefer to have the full, i.e. not time or feature limited except the differences from personal edition to professional of course, version if this gets cleared up. I hear Acronis supplies the free utilities for some of the hard drive mfrs., so i was wondering if anyone has any info on how that compares to the full version of their drive copy that costs about 50 dollars at retail outlets?

  3. In a nutshell - Seagate DiscWizard includes an OEM version of Acronis True Image disc imaging software, which is free to PC users with a Seagate or Maxtor hard disc in their PCs or attached to a USB port. The DiscWizard won’t function without (at least) a Seagate or Maxtor drive on the system. Apart from the manufacturers hardware requirement, I haven't been able to find documented, any significant functional differences. If you have any Seagate or Maxtor drives, it can't hurt to at least investigate this option (and save $50)

  4. I did find this in my travels. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Migration_Backup/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A1286606

It is not FREE(just had to do that) but cheaper than $50.00. I don't like mail in rebates..but....
