I am having trouble installing this. I downloaded and unzipped the files, but none of the resultant files include an activate.exe or readme file. Thus I can’t get it registered for use beyond the usual 30 day trial. Am I alone in this? Can anyone advise, please?

I did post a similar request with the manufacturer but they promise a reply within 2 days!

  2. Well goto www.rarlabs.com and download a 40 day trial version of winrar.

Then use this program to extract to folder with the same name as the compressed folder you downloaded.

Should then hopefully display all files contained within.

SecureZip is really good and you can get it for free.

I have been unzipping it with WinZip. Are you saying that programme is unreliable?

The two zip utilities suggested above are time limited, which I am not keen on. I have therefore downloaded and used Iceows 4.2 from http://www.iceows.com/HomePageUS.html
That is totally free for an unlimited time. It worked well, showed the three files that it should have and I now have the Democreator up and running. Thanks for the help. It remains unclear why one product works well for a simple operation and a reputable other one does not.

  6. @Buddyboy - If you are using Winzip - there are 2 "modes" that you can open zip files with. You can use the "Wizard" or the "Classic" mode.

Using the Wizard - if the zip file contains a file like "setup.exe" it will automatically run that file and then close. It will not automatically let you see the other files inside the zip archive.

With the GOTD download zip files - ALWAYS use the Classic mode - this just opens the file and you can see all of the contents - including the Activate.exe and the Readme.txt. If you extract or unzip all of the files into their own folder it should become much clearer after you read the README.TXT file for instructions.

Also if you are running Vista (instead of XP) - you will need to right click on the Activate.exe and select to "run the program as Administrator".

  7. Hey BuBBy the program asks me for a activation code but the activation.exe didn't give me one
and says my trial period has run out but i can still click evaluate and continue using it

  8. It means the activation didn't work correctly - I'm guessing you are running Vista. Have you run activate.exe as Administrator?

Not ALL of the giveaways REQUIRE to be activated as Admin.

Of course, it doesn't hurt to "Run As Admin" for all of them - the giveaways that didn't require it, should still work just fine.

It is because some giveaway programs want to store their "activate" details in locations that can only be changed by an Administrator user. Other giveaways store their "activate" details in sections that any user can modify.

So as you don't know ahead of installing, how each application "activates" - it's just easier to always "Run As Admin" - and you should be ok in either case.
