I testify to this program personally, having used it now for some months. Why Windows didn't have this ability built-in I'll never understand, but this program simply blows away Windows native Copy and Move function! On my system, I regularly get a speed increase of at least 200%, sometimes even more. You may see even faster speeds on your system! A new beta version has been released, with many small improvements. This program can be used within Windows Explorer, or if you happen to use Total Commander or Directory Opus (guilty as charged), this program has built-in support for either one.

If you regularly do copy and moves of larger sized files, this program will permanently change your computing habits! The speed increase is most noticeable with files over 75Mb or so, but the effectiveness of the program works on all files, it's just that you cannot so much tell on the smaller sized files.

Enter..... TeraCopy 2.0. As you readers have come to expect from me by now, this program is completely free of charge. There is a paid version, but it really doesn't have much more to offer than the freeware version does, imho. If you'd like your very own copy of this program, jump on over to http://www.codesector.com/teracopy.asp and open the door to much, much faster file copy times. See for yourself, and when you've found out, post back to this thread and share your experience with it.

    Enjoy the journey!

Thanks, I'll check that one out as I'm always copy and pasting suff, so this sounds like a steal. I've just transferred a load of Battlefield 2 files to my external drive (When I hover my mouse over the transferred files it says "size larger than 62.4Gb", lol) as I'm moving everything to a new computer and it took a few hours to accomplish

According to my firewall, that site makes a connection to crossbow.timb.us port 5757.

There may be a legitimate reason, but I don't like odd connections on odd ports!
Seems to be an online status indicator, so I guess it's legit
