Is anybody else having problems installing EverNote? I have tried both custom & express install, but nothing is working. Any ideas?

  2. Me too and we must both have posted our topics at the same time!

  3. Hey guys, me too......are either of you running on Vista? Right after beginning the install, it quits saying setup.exe has stopped working, and the details say something about the Fault Module Name being ISSetup.dll. Anybody else getting the same? I've sent an e-mail to the developers, I'll post it if they answer in time with something helpful. Too bad, this app sounds interesting...

I'm running XP SP2. Don't get any error messages, just activation complete message. It makes an EverNote dir, but it's empty!

I am having a similar problem. The installation "aborted," leaving me with an empty EverNote app folder and a 58MB ZIP file that won't work because "the time period has expired." What nonsense!

  6. well, hopefully you guys both know that the problem has been fixed (man, that was a loong download)...does anyone know how to tell if it has been registered? There's none of the usual "Registered to GOTD", and after all this, I'de hate to have it expire on me in two weeks!

If you're having installation issues try changing the filename of the extracted .exe to exactly this:

    EverNote_2.2.0.384.exe

    Seems to solve most issues.

do you know if it is already activated after installation? It installed ok for me but no activation key or anything ever came up

  9. It's a full application that requires no keys etc, I think, don't quote me on that.

When I try to run the setup program, it says it is trying to connect to the Giveaway site. Then it errors out because it can't connect.

I tried renaming as mentioned above but it did not help.

I usually don't have problems getting the software offered here to activate or register.

I am on XP in case that matters.

I tried both at the library (high speed) and home (dial up).

I downloaded from Mirror 2. It took longer than normal to download. It was around 4pm Pacific time zone, so it should have been the fixed version.

Hopefully this is just a server overload problem and it will clear up later on. (But not much time left.)

Obviously I won't be able to download it at home because I only have dialup.

I redownloaded the file from mirror 3, installed it, and it works perfectly, and is fully registered.

dvh32, thanks for trying to help.

    Problem fixed!

I searched the internet for the error message. I found out this problem can be caused from Internet Explorer being set to offline mode.

I used Internet Explorer recently because I was trying to check into these types of programs. I normally use Opera.

Sure enough, it had become set to offline mode.

So I should have searched before posting this question... but at least I know now.

  13. Just catching up...

All above issues have been cleared up ? Anything following is a fresh installation issue....

Thank you McDrewski for the workaround on the file name! Worked like a charm after three frustrating attempts the other way.

    Love this Giveaway!!! Thanks GOTD!!!
