Well 'FreewareFan' its a lovely idea to get Winoptimizer 2008 as a free gift! However, I've tried the link through to download (several times) and unfortunately it will not play ball. Perhaps Ashampoo has had a change of heart? Never mind, we could always hope that GAOTD may offer it in the future - I understand that it's a good program.

I had trouble with the link the first time - using Free Download Manager the file was given a name with a .php extension and the prefix did not match the actual file name. the second time I tried, I ignored FDM and allowed the Internet Explorer to download the file. It had the right name and installed fine.
WO2008 has slightly reduced functionality compared with WinOptimizer Platinum Suite 3; it lacks the DLL cleaner function in the Cleaning Tools section and in the Tweaking Tools section it has a System-Benchmark function instead of the Tweaking and File Associator functions.
Hello, all. I just tried the download link again, and it works just fine for me, using Firefox as my browser.
For those having trouble getting the download to work, maybe have a look at your security settings within your browser of choice?? Just a thought.....

I had a closer look at the file cleaning section of this program as the wording in the description seemed a bit odd to me. There is a change in the way the program works now compared with previous versions.
Now you set beforehand which type of files are to be cleaned up and then the program will send those files to the recycle bin. If you find you want to keep any then they have to be recovered from the bin. Previously you were shown the list of files to be deleted from which you could select which ones to keep, if any.
This may seem a minor difference but the default action has changed. Users of previous versions who change over to this version should be aware of the difference.
I haven't done any more checking of the other functions.

hi, christory, thanks for the find, do you happend to know, what the differences between Ashampoo WinOptimizer 2008 and WinOptimizer Platinum Suite 3 FULL Version are ?? should i use both, or just install one of them?
