    Hi all

Am having a problem activating Aston Desktop, the giveaway on 21st September 2007. When I try to connect to the activation server, I'm getting a message that there's a problem, and to try later. Fair comment, but I've been trying since this giveaway started this morning, and it's STILL offline. Any idea how long it could be down?

    Best Regards

  2. Do you normally have problems Activating giveaways, or is this something unusual for you?

I'm wondering if this is something specific for you and this giveaway (today) - or something that always happens (more likely to do with your internet/firewall/antivirus setup)

Also - What OS are you running, XP or Vista?

(If it is any consolation - it worked first time for me, so it's not necessarily a problem with the download).

    Hi BuBBy

This is the first time I've ever had a problem activating any of the GOTD software. Normally, it's more of a problem remembering to get the activation in before the cutoff time!

That said, I've just retried the activation, and it's went through without problem. Could have been a bandwidth bottleneck problem (have been aware of these for the last few weeks here). Have contacted ISP about the problem, but ain't exactly holding my breath awaiting a reply. (ISP blames Telco blames ISP blames.....)

Many thanks for your quick reply. Appreciate it (even though it's taken me most of the day to get back to this problem). Busy Friday :(

    Best Regards

I activated Aston yesterday and most went well (some of the old Explorer settings were lost - noticed it when I switched back to Explorer - which became necessary since today my Aston says it is a trial with 30 days left). I sure hope I didn't mess up my Explorer settings (can be fixed but lots of trouble) for nothing!

    Any ideas? Many thanks.
