I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question but I gave up trying to find a solution on the internet.

I am using firefox 2.0. My firefox browser is very slow. When I click on a browser tab it takes a few seconds before that tab is shown and I noticed that the memory and cpu jump up for firefox.exe during this time. CPU jumps to 100% and memory to something like 115,000K from 90,000K. Also firefox is always running with a minimum of 94,000K memory. Also opening web pages is very slow.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix this? Should I reinstall firefox again.

  2. Try firetune. Make sure firefox is closed whilst using this free tweaking utility.

Firefox has been known to hog up all the free RAM you have. But if you have any ADD-Ons that you don't need, then it would be helpful to disable them, and then restart firefox.
