I am kind of ignorant when it comes to Vista since I've got XP on my computer. When I tried to install this game on my daughter's Vista computer, I got an error message, which was shortly followed by another box that told me it might not have been installed correctly, so what did I want to do? I clicked on reinstall, and it prompted me for where I wanted to save the file to, which is further than I got before, so I took that as a good sign. But after it was done, when I double clicked on ict.exe , the screen went black and stayed that way. I did alt-cntl-delete and saw that the program was not responding. I uninstalled it, redownloaded it (from the main link - not one of the mirrors), and installed it again. This time the installation showed no errors, but when I tried to bring the game up, the screen turned black, flashed a few times, and then stayed black. I never even got as far as Vista asking my permission, which I assume it needs to do - it seems to do that constantly. I did alt-cntl-delete again, and again, it said Ice Cream Tycoon was not responding. Just out of curiosity, I installed it on my XP computer, and it works fine.

So, I know that it's not the game's fault - it's something I'm not doing right - but I am totally clueless.

    Any ideas? Thank you!

I have Vista and normally don't have any problems with software that's compatible, or that will run in the compatibility mode, but this game did the same thing to me that it's doing to you and to others. The screen goes black, the game is non-responsive, and I have to go to the task manager to get out of the black screen.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong since so many are unable to get the game working with Vista.
