    Kirby145:

According to http://education.yahoo.com/, 'shareware' is copyrighted software that is available free of charge on a trial basis, usually with the condition that users pay a fee for continued use and support. Freeware is defined as software made available for unlimited use, at no charge.

The software titles showcased by Giveaway of the Day are full versions purchased from the developers by the Giveaway team and offered to us on a limited basis: if you lose your Giveaway software, replacements must be purchased. Technical support and upgrades must also be purchased.

So, if one considers download limitations, fee-based replacement, fee-based technical support and fee-based upgrades the daily offerings here are, technically speaking, shareware more than freeware.

Under those circumstances, your presumptuous claim of shareware 'being no use to anyone' is questionable.

Oh...you seem a little tense. Might I suggest meditation and stretching exercises to alleviate the stress?

  5. Sorry :)
Today : my site is public :)

You heard about Open Office with full-feature for your requirements in working with documents… You definitely have heard about Mozilla Firefox as a powerful web browser with a lot of feature that IE cannot provide…. And you also might have heard about VLC Player, a small, full feature media player, can play just any kinds of media format.
And if you still haven’t heard about them, then at least, you have once heard about Linux, Ubuntu?

Yes, what I am trying to talk to you about is a much larger world than the world we have known about: It is the world of freeware and open source software – where open source matters.

So what is freeware and open source software? They are free software, with the same function, features that a commercial software can provide you. They were created by the people like you and like me, who understand and know what we really want from a software. And best of all, they are free, and you are welcomed to develop it into your own version ( if you can, of course).

So why would you need to use open source software: They are free ( come on), and they have the same featured and power as any other commercial software can provide. They are not as bulky with loads of unnecessary feature like some of the commercial software. They provide the main feature that we want, and they do it so good.

YOwn.Net- Powered and developed by a friend to many of us, yownet, and his friends who share the same vision and dreams…. Is a website that vows to bring to you many open source software that are powerful, full feature, well function. The software that is provided on the site has already been tested, reviewed and rated by the staff carefully, so you can have the best understanding about the software. The staff also is working hard to provide you the direct links, help you attain the software you need easier.

YOwn.Net- U own it, aso make it yours. So what are you waiting for? Visiting the site and dress up your PC with powerful tools at no cost whatsoever.

    YOwn.Net : WWW.YOWN.NET

I Hope You love it :)

    thank for read :)

Check out other threads guy. Even BuBBy has posted links to Freeware along with many other members. People come here for free software so whats the difference? Absolutely nothing. If you think GOTD does purchase the offerings then they got a good deal from this developer and should thank him!

If you want to make policy here, buy the site. Oh and btw, I very much doubt that GOTD purchases cooperate licenses for all the folks that come and download. Ha Ha do you really think they are that good hearted? I imagine the developers give the software to GOTD to advertise there line of products. You need to take some type of business course and bounce back to reality. Nothings free. Theres a motive and a price no matter how hidden they may be.

Yownet - thank you very much for the information about your website - www.yown.net

It's most certainly one for my 'Favorites' folder, particularly if you and your friends intend to develop it. Certainly there are many Freeware and Open Source links included that I've never come across before + some that I already use. Well done and thank you again! Your information is exactly what these threads are designed for i.e. sharing good information!

Well 'D' I personally think it's brilliant that you are offering the Freeware information in more than one language. I've just looked at your website again - I imagine Vietnamese must be a very difficult language to learn. The main issue however is that you are producing a really excellent Freeware facility - keep up the good work!

Greetings and best wishes to you and your compatriots from many, many thousands of miles away.

There's a misconception that if you pay for a program it must be better than one that's free. But freeware programs are often excellent. For instance, I use a freeware program called mymp3 to record streaming audio, (and save it as mp3 or WAV) which is the best, and easiest to use, of any, free or paid, of this type of utility that I've tried.

actually, Jerrychance, I think, (though i dont know for sure, i never tried to learn vietnamese, despite being a vietnamese by ethnic) that vietnamese from all asian languages should be the most easiest one for europeans to learn, since the entire vietnamese alphabet is based on exactly the same latin letters as all european languages, thanks to french colonization ;D
