Altough I downloaded it twice and tried many times to install the today giveaway, it fails.
Albeit I granted all the proper authorizations in my firewall, I still get an error message, saying that "activation module failed to connect to GOTD. Software activation is not possible at the moment. Please try again later or check your firewall settings".

Am I the only one to encounter such a problem? and what can I do to solve it, as I really would like to try this chess game?

Had that happen to me before... I solved it by restarting the computer

  4. Servers are probably busy, just try later.

    You have 24 hours.

Oh I tried so many times... I must be really unlucky today.
i'll try again later, but with no conviction.

  6. Are you running XP or Vista? If it continues, I would try the "Please try again later" - but make it 3 or 4 hours later.

    XP Pro SP2!

    In fact, I'm trying since 9.30 A.M (and it's currently 2 P.M in Paris)... hum... :)

Just to let you know : I also tried installing the game on Win Me and Win 2k using Virtual PC to no avail. I have no firewalls installed on my virtual machines.
In both cases, the setup/activation program terminated without even an error message. It's on the screen... then it's no more, and that's it.

    I really don't understand.
