I think we need a video editor on GAOTD. Not a converter, but a full fledged editor similar to Windows Media Maker.

How about Diet Power? I used an older version years ago and it worked great.

I don't know how easy this program to get would be, but I would absolutely LOVE it if you were able to give away "Anapod Explorer: Universal Edition." It is a really great Ipod copy to/from - and it is not like all the other free ones, (although i can definitely imagine the comments). I think, however, that people will love this...its way better than Itunes or any of the other free stuff.

    Thanks,

Also, there is a great Memorizing program called Supermemo that uses a special method (kind of like flashcards) to help you memorize things for a lifetime. I hear its great for students or people who just want to know stuff...or learning languages. It asks you a question, hen asks you to rate your answer, then, depending on how you did, asks it at a predetermined time later, the time to where you ALMOST forget it, but don't...because that is the time that you remember it the most.

You should at least read about it.

  8. Desktop Icon Toy. I searched and saw that it was just offered in March for the second time. I'm moving, and when I set my computer up yesterday, some things were lost. I've done system restore, but can't get it back and I LOVE the clock feature. I do realize that the developers give us trials of their software in the hopes that we become addicted and eventually have to redownload and hopefully pay for their software. As I have mentioned before tho, I am disabled and can't afford to pay $20 for such a toy. not to mention all the extra costs that go along with moving. If for no other reason, wouldn't you like to offer it again, just to rustle all the ungrateful, self serving grumblers? hee hee!! Did I say PLEASE? : )

How's about a numismatic and/or philatelic database package? Quite a few on the market, I believe all going for under $50 to $75, some offering an image storing function (great for insurance purposes), some even autolink to eBay or spot quote sites. Would be nice if GAOTD twisted an arm and hosted one here. Examples in no particular order include:

    Coin Organizer Deluxe
    WorldCoins
    Coin Tracker
    Stamp Tracker
    CoinManage
    StampManage
    Pro-Coin

I would like to have a software that syncs Outlook between a desktop and laptop. Not just calendar, contacts, tasks, but also email. I could find that particularly useful and I am sure that other that have to be more mobile than me would find it useful too.

I'd like to see 3D Box design software for images like those for the featured product each day (e.g. http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/12312.jpg). Any chance of something like that? Maybe "3D Box Shot Maker"?

    Thanks for a great site.

This company makes "fun" software that also has business uses:

    www.reallusion.com

A couple of their products are "FaceFilter" for taking facial snapshots then "improving" them using pre-defined morphing (turn frowns into smiles or sneers, etc.), wrinkle removal, lighten shadows, etc. Yes, you can do most of that with a good PhotoShop-like program, but this is geared toward non-expert users and has lots of useful (serious) and fun effects:

    www.reallusion.com/facefilter

Another is their CrazyTalk software to take photos of most anybody, animals, statues, etc., and animate it using audio lip-syncing, puppetry, etc. to make the photo/avatar "talk", show expressions, etc.

    www.reallusion.com/crazytalk

They've got some other products, such as iClone for making/animating 3D films; can work with models downloaded from Google.

I have face filter and can attest to it's usefulness. I've used it to improve quite a lot of images that were spoiled by someones lack of a smile. I had some images of my wifes aunt at her fathers 80th birthday, and she looked miserable on every picture I had. So out came face filter and a few tweaks transformed most of the images. Face filter can change the positions of both the mot and eyes to upturn tem. Then again you can use it to do the opposite. It definitely would be a great software giveaway.

I would love a program that will allow you to password protect or hide files and folders on your computer. I downloaded something similar not long ago and loved it, but it was only a 7 day trial.

I sincerely apologize if it's already been suggested (and I'm sure I"m not the only MAC user out here...), but how about some MAC-compatible software as a giveaway? Is this only a Windows site? If so, maybe you could say so?
    Thanks!

Hi, what I would really like as a give away would be a computer virtualization program. I have a good example here, called Parallels Workstation (for Windows). The price is 50$ for one copy, but I'm pretty sure you guys can find something that does the same thing but for cheaper. ;-)

    http://www.parallels.com/en/products/workstation/

With it you can install multiple operating systems and switch between your "virtual computers" without rebooting. If you have spyware or malware on one of your virtual computer, you can delete it easily and create a new one, without harming your main (real) computer...

    It would be GREAT! Thanks.

    Hi,

I'd really like to get either RSJ HD Image Professional (www.rsj.de/stage/en/hdimg/default.asp) or Image for Windows (http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-windows.htm) as a giveaway. Both of these hard disk imaging programs offer a possibility to create an automatic restore disc, and that's why it'd be great to see either product offered here. Would that be possible?

Hi Giveaway of the Day team and fellow forum members,

One program that should be given away as a giveaway should be:

    Full Speed v3.3

What it does is optimizes you Internet Speed and Download speed to the best possible performance. Currently I am using the Free version of Full Speed v3.3 and it is fantastic. Best of all is that it doesn't really cost much, only around $10.00, so it wouldn't be a biggy like some popular programs.

It is a highly recommended program and I hope to see it here soon

    Thanks :)

I keep getting Emails with special offers for a program called Whitesmoke, a grammar and spelling correction tool, that purportedly does a far better job than my favorite word processor Word for Windows. I'm on the verge of buying their latest offer of the main package plus two other pro packages thrown in at just over $80 (General, buisness and creative writing packages). They also have a legal, medical and executive package.

After spending a fortune at the big distributor/developer sites, I've become a little jaded with the games that most of them are rolling out these days. Virtually all of the games coming from developers such as Reflexive, Big Fish Games and Alawar, are just re hashes of their previous big sellers such as match three, hidden objects and platform games. Nothing special at all. Apart from that I though it would be nice to patronize the smaller developers, so with that in mind, the last few games I've bought have been from independent small developers such as Pi Eyed games and Cryptic Sea (an offshoot of Chronic Logic that developed Gish):

    Cryptic Sea (Blast Miner):

    http://www.crypticsea.com/

    Pi Eyed Games (Darkside):

    http://www.pieyegames.com/Games/

Nine Dragon games (Hong Kong MahJong)

    http://www.ninedragons.com/

Divo Games (Qadronoid I & II and Risk II)

    http://www.divogames.com/

Garage Games (Marble Blast Gold and Chain Reaction)

    http://www.garagegames.com/

    Jadeware games (Ultranium 4 & 5)

    http://www.jadeware.net/

    Chronic Logic (Gish)

    http://www.chroniclogic.com/

All the above games apart from the arkanoid games quadronoid and Ultranium 4 & 5, are pretty much original arcade games. The Mahjong game is not a matching pairs but the original four player game, even the arkanoids are different from most arkanoids (Quadronoid - you can set it up to have 1,2,3 or 4 bats plus there's an editor; Ultranium 5 is a cross between a space shoot em up and an arkanoid, though nothing like Arklight another one of that ilk that you can get from Pi Eyed Games that is also a cross between a space shoot em up and an arkanoid). Chain Reaction is a brilliant puzzle game where you have to place objects (such as hair ryers, pulleys, ropes, weights, trampets, see saws and other every day objects in particular positions, then click on the go button. If you've set up the chain reaction correctly, you get the purple dragon from point a to point b (this has vague similarities to another of the games I mention above, Blast miner, where you have to move gold from a to b using various tools though nothing like Chain Reaction (there's yet another of this type called Barrel Mania - all three are brilliant games and well worth gracing any games library) Marble Blast Gold has a cult following and the downloadable custom made levels more than double the ones you get with the original. All the above games come with an editor as well (apart from Darkside and Risk II)

It would be fantastic bringing these developers on board the giveaway project; apart from pi eyed games I would say all are Indie developers, that is I do think most of them are non main stream, though some of them do have their games available elsewhere. For example you can buy the Pi eyed and Cryptic Sea games from Reflexive. Wouldn't it be nice to see the actual developer get the full amount for their games instead of a percentage as well as more recognition for original games.

By the way, I wouldn't gain by you getting any of these games because I have them all. I just think they are all brilliant and original (well most) arcade games that most would love to own if they knew about them.

I was going through the internet and I found this good program called Tune up Utilities, and it helped speed up my computer a lot, I think it will be a pretty good giveaway, even though I don't know if it's valid. Hmm G.Force was one of my old favorites but i don't really know what it does besides being a cool visualization for WMP

I just love how many different varieties of softwares I see and hear about on GAOTD. What I would like to see is A Karaoke to Video Converter. (.kar,.cdg to avi or DVD)

Elsewise if anyone knows I'd like to know if there is a Freeware application to convert .KAR files to AVI (Or to any video format for that matter) Karaoke to Directx exists however the conversion of .kar is non functional. I'll even take a .kar to .cdg converter

    Thank you all in advance.
