    My Games Suggestions:

Either Worms World Party or Worms Armageddon
    An old-fashioned RPG that isn't online (like Aveyond 1 & 2)
    Hoyle Card Games
    Hoyle Board Games
Jigs@w Puzzle Games (spelled like that)
Strategy and Puzzle Games that make you use your brain to figure stuff out (like Azada)
    Space Shooters
    Elements
    Chromadrome 1 & 2
    Barrel Mania
    Elf Bowling (latest version)
    Band of Bugs
    Slingo Quest 1 & 2

There are more, but that's all I can think of for now.

Also, the specifically named games I listed would be great, but they are only used as examples of what type of games I'd like to see offered.

  5. Something for which I'm not aware of any decent freeware... OCR software?

There must be some struggling new contender looking for exposure that GAOTD can persuade to try out here?

For programs, I'd like to see BlueBeam PDF Revu Standard or Pro (Pro preferrable). As for games, anything by Sid Meier is great. Thanks for considering these.

A years subscription to Version tracker pro would be a brilliant giveaway. I'm sure this one would go down really well with the mjority of community members, though there are always those that can never be pleased, lol.

Hey wordbird, concept draw mind map has already been given away last year, so you may be lucky enough to see it as a repeat.

To gtoal: not *exactly* what you were looking for, but you might want to check out Mojopac (http://www.mojopac.com/portal/content/hellomojo.jsp).

Just saw your reply this weekend, sorry for the delay in acknowledging it!

I checked out Mojopac and it's an impressive piece of software. I wish the company would explain in more techie terms though exactly how it works! (It isn't obvious, but it's damned clever, whatever it is)

The pro version would make a great GAOTD too (hint, hint!)

  15. Judging by many of the posts on the front page something like this would be well appreciated by the users here :-)

    http://www.wintertree-software.com/app/gramxp/index.html

(Or something similar from any other vendor. Although in this case preferably a US or UK vendor, rather than our usual friends from Eastern Europe or China...)

I just finished playing Rise of the Atlantis (from a previous GOTD giveaway) and it was awesome! It even gives you a free downloadable screensaver after you beat the game. I'd LOVE to see more games from Playrix, the company who made this one. Thanks, GOTD!!!

Xplorer2 Pro (http://www.zabkat.com) would make an EXCELLENT giveaway. I haven't found a thing missing from this file manager. XYplorer (http://www.xyplorer.com) is great, too.
Starships Unlimited (http://apezone.com/) would make a good game GAOTD, too.

First I would like to congradulate GAOTD for providing such a site to provide free software. What I would like to see are more programs aimed at maintaining older family computors not all at the computor-literate "techies". Most of these computors are 5 to 10 years old and loaded with errors causing slowdown and freeze ups. With kids, and in my case, 3 and 5yr old grandkids playing on the computor, things get all messed up. I recently downloaded the Tweak Now giveaway and found over a thousand errors which I cleaned and it now shows no errors. I also downloaded another "Free to try" scanner which says that I have another 2743 errors but I have to buy it to clean the computor. With the economy today, buying the latest hi-tech hardware/software is beyond the average family. One other thing is to keep in mind that a lot of computors are still operatubg on dial-up. Mine (with accelerated dialup) shows a download speed averageing about 1.9 kbs so downloading a program such as the Game giveaway this past weekend are inconceivable, especially when a phone call comes in and breaks the connection.

Network Magic - It's great for managing any network, the user interface is incredibly simple, I was able to easily fix problems in my network with shared folders and shared printers. I was very impressed, I have the free version, but many of the great features are disabled.
