The NetBalancer Settings window [Edit menu -> Settings...] includes a checkbox for starting the tray icon with Windows. Right-click the icon -> context menu -> Traffic Window for settings like On Top & Opacity & Hide -- drag the window to place it where you want. There are 3 components: a Service that's set to Automatic [Windows' Administrative Tools -> Services], the program window you get via the Start Menu shortcut, & the NetBalance Tray [also in the Start Menu]. The tray icon context menu has one option to Close, which just stops the tray portion, & another option to stop the service & close -- otherwise you have to stop the service through the Services window or using something like Task Mgr. if you want to completely stop NetBalancer. Note that the service has to be running for the tray app to work, the tray app won't start the service automatically, & using the tray icon context menu to start the service may/may not work. Note that if you want to get rid of NetBalancer entirely restoring a backup, or in win7 a restore point is probably your best bet to put things back -- there are a fair amount of .NET changes made during install, plus changes to Windows, & it's hard [if possible] to fully undo that sort of thing otherwise.
