Yea.. I couldn't get to run either. I get one of those "Do you want to send error report to Microsoft" messages.

    About same here:
    When I start game:
" ..Error has occurred. Want to send a report to Microsoft? ..."

So much for the programmers of this company.
BTW: No install at all. Just unzipping.
So: no Shortcuts, no choice of desktop icons, no choice for which users, etc.
No problem fot me, but for the average PC-user....

    ProblemWare!
    Bye bye.

Same thing for me: Real Ball has encountered a problem and needs to close.
All they say is to check the minimum system requirements.
The System Requirements of the game: Pentium III, 500 MHz, Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP, 128 MB RAM, 16 MB Video RAM
And my computer: AMD Athlon 2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 128 MB of video RAM and Windows XP Service Pack 2.

What?! Is my computer too good for this game ?!

Ditto for me. I've got the same problem with RealBall.

The Microsoft message points to this:

    AppName: realball.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.19 ModName: kernel32.dll
    ModVer: 5.1.2600.2945 Offset: 00012a5b

    as the "Error signature"

"GiveAway of the Day" and "GAME GiveAway of the Day" have been great, but someone has dropped the ball on this one.

Would be nice if they reported the actual error and made a "Clean" copy of "Real Ball" available in the next day or so.

After installing and running "RealBall", my screen began to "flicker". I played maybe 3 levels with my screen continueing to flicker, before the game became too eratic to play and I shut it down. The game appears to be a more advanced version of the "Magic Ball 2" - "Aqua Ball" type.
RealBall didnot create create an icon (a disappointment)for convient quick start, like the earlier "XmasBlox" game from GOTD and had to launched from a file. Ease of use, as well as gameplay is an important consideration in any game for me.
"XmasBlox" gameplay is different enough to continue use from the "file".
"RealBall" performance problems and lack of easy start (for a game so similar to others) defeates any enjoyment possibly gained from playing.
"GOTD" presenting the game for free evaluation has saved me time and frustration trying to make something work, that isn't worth the effort.
The feedback from other users, with my own experience gets a "thumbs-down" for this game. I'll remove it, move on to the previous games and look forward to the next.
Thanks to the "fourm" and "GOTD".

Looks like developer have removed negative votes!

  14. Yeah...they removed it. That doesn't make things very fair does it? If they addressed the issue at hand and then removed, it would be ok...but just removing them and not doing anything else? Granted it's marketing, but I'd like things to be fair and balanced.

By the way I have found the problem they uploaded older file version of the game on giveawayoftheday I have downloaded the game from their website and it's version 1.1 of the file and it runs just fine, but it's demo looks like it's true you will not be getting new versions on giveawayoftheday, but they should of still uploaded new version, because old one crashes!

Or they can offer us $10 discount this way I would just pay another $10,because I want this game.

  17. Oleg: I don't think they have any agreements with GAOTD but you may want to contact the publisher directly and perhaps bring this up. Never hurts to ask, and the worse they can say is "no".

I'm with Oleg and tjchan.. I noticed the negative votes for the game have been removed. And when I added mine, the percentage never went up. Not very fair at all. I'd hate to think other ratings have been manipulated as well.
