I apologise for the lateness, but as I’ve said to a few community members that I’ve finally fulfilled promises too, better late than never. There’s a good range of genres to be found in my selection for today. A cool point and click adventure, a bug orientated racing game, an interesting clone of the DOS based puzzle Gear works (which is windows not DOS) and finally a great arkanoid taster. I’ll have some more games for you tomorrow, though technically they are actually today’s games. reverseOrder will also be posting his games tomorrow, so you’ll have a double bonus to look forwards to as you have today with wizard posting a great game from Vertigo games as well. (thanks Wizz). I’ve neglected to include my screen shots. I need to create a couple more photobucket accounts as they only allow so much bandwidth each month. I hate the images disappearing as it looks so shoddy, so need to create a few more. Which means I need to create some more emails as you can only use an Email once when creating a free account. You’ll see images appearing over the next several hours and hopefully by the time I post today’s games in the morning (or around lunch time, I’ll have all the images uploaded. It’s added a lot of extra work adding images, but I do think it helps to give you a better idea as to what to expect. (I don’t regret buying it, though I paid a lot more money that what’s being asked for now) The commercial version has loads more levels and extra level packs (costs around $5 each and can be found <a href="http://www.longbowgames.com/rivalball/">HERE</a>). David Galindo, Vertigo Games, and I have been e-mailing each other off and on for some months now and I checked my inbox today and had a special request from him. David would like for the GOTD community to know that Vertigo has a new game out called Kablooey! Kablooey is a freeware game that he currently has running in the finals for 2beegames's 2nd competition. His hopes are that everyone will enjoy the game so much that they will vote for his game to win. Now that the background is done.... Kablooey is really an excellent game with a rather unique concept. The backstory is that the mayor has done a really bad job of cleaning up the city like he promised the President he would. The President is visiting in a few days and you need to bust your butt to clean up! This is where you're probably thinking "OK, I'm gonna pick up some trash, maybe bust up some criminals..." That's where David throws you a curve ball. You see the entire city from a side view with little hands popped up here and there. Your job is to select two hands to join them to logically produce an end result. For example...you would join the fresh donuts with the hot coffee. The kicker is, that there are a bunch of hands and only 60 seconds to do it in. Really frantic clicking going on here lol. I enjoy the game, but I fear others may be put off by the extreme quickness of the game. You get two "hours" to advance through some goals, if you don't complete them, your day is done and you've lost. Trust me it sounds hard, but it really is harder if you don't have a game plan. I'd give it a go. Just a head's up there is a nag screen at the end of the game asking you to vote for the game. Anyway, it’s been dropped in price to £14.99. ($29.95). If you are able to purchase from the UK site it will work out cheaper. I’ve managed to buy from the US site. There’s two buttons to the top right of the screen a US and a UK flag. Click on these to gain access to the one you want to visit. They do have different deals, so it’ s worth visiting both. Cities XL limited edition has been dropped (for a limited period only) to £20.95 or $29.95 …(from £34.95 or $49.95). I nearly pre-ordered this game as I like city building games and this one looks hot, but as the main emphasis is on online play and paid online at that I decided not to go for this baby. It does have a single player element, but I didn’t think the then price was worth it. There’s a monthly fee to play the online version of the game. The limited edition version gives you some extra maps and buildings. I think I’ll wait till it drops more. :) The US deal is a better one especially if you purchase from the UK. You’ll end up saving a little. Trine has been reduced from $29.95 to $19.95. This is a brilliant platform game with three interchangeable characters. (Costs slightly more on Steam but you get any updates automatically). Defence Grid has been reduced to $9.99 from $19.99. This is one of the best tower defence games I’ve ever played. Gorgeous graphics and some very challenging game play. The Steam edition Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood has been reduced from $49.99 to “29.99. This is much better than the original game, with gorgeous graphics and great game play. I must return to the game soon. Finally, please make sure your scanner signature/database is up to date and current.
