It is free. The message about the trial version indicates the game wasn't correctly activated. Make sure Elite Mahjong it isn't running - then run the activate.exe that came with this download. The trial message should not appear the next time you run the game.

I thought this game was free today April 24th, after I downloaded it and activated it, I found that it was only a trial version with 14 times you can play before you have to buy the game. This is NOT free.
