Alawar has stopped answering my e-mails. Four games that wouldn't work! That's the spirit, if you can't solve a problem, ignore it.

In terms of Gamehouse - the new game I downloaded yesterday closes fine. It's strange that the Zone Alarm reset didn't clear whatever I did to make them not close down OK. Of course I can't reinstall the games because they were from the free game of the day promotion. The nice thing is I got to stop those constant upgrade reminders I was getting from Java.

I do have problems with gamehouse games after I close a game it will say the same thing. Gamehouse game closed and the error then DEP telling me it closed the game. I have a couple Alawar games and I have no problems with them. I only have the games on 1 computer though.

OK I now officially hate Alawar. I downloaded two more games and the same thing happened and now they are going back to saying it must be my drivers (after they already said they were OK after looking at the DxDiag). Strange how a game can play fine but suddenly their wrapper stops working and your computer is the same but they say it is your computer's fault.

Alawar's game wouldn't play at all. Gamehouse games play fine but don't close properly.

Terri,

You mentioned both Gamehouse and Alawar. Which one was causing the problem?

I had a problem with an Alawar freebie and after going through hoops, they finally decided it just was not going to work for me. It was too old for them to want to fix so they did as they did to you. They offered me a free game. It was the opportunity to get Treasures of Montezuma 2 which I had been wanting!

In my case, I got an extra bonus. The game that won't work from Alawar, will work from MyPlayCity go I got my cake and ate it, too!

Alawar just got back to me and offered me another game to replace it. I hope I don't have the same problem with that one.

I reset it but I'm still having the same problem with all of my Gamehouse games, they don't shut down properly. I get a message saying the program stopped working. If the game had changed my color scheme, it stays changed, If I try to open the game again, it says "cannot open multiple times" (or something like that). Anyone have any suggestions.

As far as Alawar is concerned, I'm sure it is their wrapper that stopped working (just like with the free game a couple of months ago) but they refuse to accept that and insist I send them the diagnostics on my computer. It was only $1.99 but I hate when a company doesn't take any responsibility for their own problems. Oh well I'll keep trying with them. I remember someone (I think Whiterabbit) contacted them and got some kind of a response?

Default Re: Zone Alarm Pro default settings
Zone Alarm was designed to work best with Default setting..

Here is the recommended way to Restore all Default settings

1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together
2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock in the system tray lower right corner
3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot

I must have denied permission to something I need to play games and I don't know what it is so I can't whitelist it. If I uninstall Zone Alarm completely, can I reinstall it (I have the license key and assume I can do that since it says it's good for up to 3 computers)? Will I have to start all over with approving and denying everything?

I'm also having a problem with the game I bought from Alawar (I think it may be related) and have the same question. Should I uninstall the game and then reinstall it?

Thanks.
