<p>Five important items of note today relating to Mozilla’s support for the VP8 codec have a look</p>

<p>WebM video files play directly in your web browser using a new technology called HTML5. No plug-ins are required, but you must install a web browser that supports WebM files. See the instructions below in “How to Play WebM Videos.”</p>
<p>Each browser may choose to include different features of webkit in their final versions, so they are not always the same. </p>
<p>Notes<br />
    * Several features have not yet been fully defined, and thus have only experimental support.<br />
    * Internet Explorer 9 information is based on early developer information and the Platform Preview.<br />
    * Firefox 4.0 (previously 3.7) information is based on features planned for Gecko 1.9.3.<br />
    * Safari 4.* information is based on the latest Webkit nightly builds.<br />
    * Chrome 5.0 information is based on the 5.0 developer preview.<br />
    * Opera 10.* information is based on experimental builds
