Five important items of note today relating to Mozilla’s support for the VP8 codec have a look

WebM video files play directly in your web browser using a new technology called HTML5. No plug-ins are required, but you must install a web browser that supports WebM files. See the instructions below in “How to Play WebM Videos.”

Each browser may choose to include different features of webkit in their final versions, so they are not always the same.

* Several features have not yet been fully defined, and thus have only experimental support.
* Internet Explorer 9 information is based on early developer information and the Platform Preview.
* Firefox 4.0 (previously 3.7) information is based on features planned for Gecko 1.9.3.
