Terri,
as long as you don't click on any banner, you won't download anything from it. Most ad-banners are only annoying, not malware.
The bad boys can hack a site, of course, there is nothing like guaranteed total security.

Again some links for additional free security software and know-how (on the basis of my own experiences):

easy to use and reliable:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
http://www.superantispyware.com/
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

reliable but little more to learn:
Spybot - Search & Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

online scans:
http://virusscan.jotti.org/en
http://scanner.novirusthanks.org/
http://www.virustotal.com/

reviews and tips:
easy to read (mostly) and reliable
http://www.techsupportalert.com/pc/security-tools.html

Of course there are other sources, but these are those, I can recommend because I'm using them since a long time.
And don't forget, these tools are no replacement for a decent anti-virus programme and a firewall.

Prevention is better than cure.

Thanks for the info but isn't it possible that the virus tried to come in through whatever ad banner was on the page when I opened it? When you have a pop-up blocker on I know it keeps the site from opening a screen on your computer but does it keep it from opening completely?

Terri, It seems that you are getting lots of virus warnings lately. I doubt, that all the big game houses have infected web-sites. Of course, things happen. More likely to me is that your system has got some malware. Make some in-depth scans, with a decent antivirus programme and AntiMalwarebytes or/and SuperAntiSpyware.
I scanned the Gamehouse download site, you should do so too with all your "suspicious" sites. Here is the result:

I did get a virus warning on Gamehouse today when I went to the download page for the free game. That warning was probably legitimate because the warning was from my firewall and it went into that phony "Your computer is infected" screen. I got off right away with no ill effects but I wanted to warn everyone to be careful.

To mywot and sideadvisor:
They are not able to scan a site, or give you a warning about an acute virus attack.
There you can only find reports about the reliability of the respective site, that is not always real-time.

To Firefox:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/features/#security
Read how Firefox can make your web-browsing more secure.
The browser does not scan for viruses of its own volition,it depends on your installed Anti-virus-software:

Anti-Virus Software

Firefox integrates elegantly with your antivirus software. When you download a file, your computer’s antivirus program automatically checks it to protect you against viruses and other malware, which could otherwise attack your computer.

BTW, my Kaspersky did not report anything bad about the gamezbo site, as far as I clicked through the site.

You can also try these three steps to see if a site/game has viruses:

1. http://www.mywot.com (will give you users' experience/feedback on programs & sites)
2. http://siteadvisor.com (will give you McAfee's tested feedback on programs & sites)
3. Firefox (if you download programs using firefox, firefox will automatically scan these programs for viruses, before it actually downloads the executable files.)

The above 3 steps will give you a good idea about whether a program/site has viruses.

I've started getting a virus warning on this site and several others have also reported that they are getting it. Is anyone else getting it? I wonder if it is legitimate or the same thing they were reporting on Gamehouse which turned out to be a false positive.
