Or the subscription runs out, in *very* rare cases.

Your mileage may vary.

Proper backups may extend the lifetime of program useability considerably.

Overenthusiastic registry pruning may reduce lifetime of program useability dramatically.

Migration of giveaway programs upon upgrading operating system version is improbable.

This post will self-destruct in OP*^)&(_*KJJonds. Have a nice day.

argogo, you seem to be addressing two different issues -
a) offer availability
and
b) time limits for the software itself

The answers are:
a) GAOTD maintains a strict 24-hour time window for downloading and registering software.
b) Lifetime useability* after fully completing the registration steps within the aforementioned 24-hr window.
*Now "Lifetime" is a quirky variable... it can mean the life of your hard drive, or as long as you don't have to reformat a hard drive, or until you accidentally log onto the vendor's site and accept an upgrade that erases your previous registration code, or until Microsoft decides to launch another bloated flawed patch-prone operating system that obsoletes your older and functioning OS.

The "agreed upon period" is usually 24 hours - which is displayed on each giveaway period. That is the time you have left to download, install, activate etc the software.

Once that counter drops to 0:00 The giveaway is over and new users will not be able to download and activate the software, but will instead be directed to the developers download page to download a regular shareware version of the program.

I can't comment on behalf of GOTD - but to me, that is what "makes sense".

Then again maybe they meant to say "the registration data will expire" but that goes against their other statements that the installed giveaway won't have any limitations (like an expiry date).

I saw this quote on your site:
"We guarantee, that the offer will be available for the limited time only, agreed by our company and software publisher, and the registration data will expire once this agreed period is over."

Does this mean that the software you offer will only last for a certain time period, i.e. 1 or 2 months, etc? I've enjoyed this site so far, but when I saw this I got a bit worried.

So my question is:

Does the software you offer last as a registered version for lifetime, or does it expire within a certain time frame?

Thank you for your support.
