regna, once you click on the internet registration, it should open up a web browser. From here you choose which license you're applying for. Probably the Free license unless you're wanting to check out the Pro trial. Perhaps you need to disable your pop-up blocker?

~Edit~ I did notice that if you don't hit the Free license button in a timely manner, the activation on the install program hangs. Perhaps this is your wall that you are hitting? You could also try disabling your firewall.

Thanks for the info wiz...I downloaded Unity and installed, but I get a registration screen. I try to register via internet, but it just hangs. Any ideas? I've looked at the Unity support site, and don't see any mention of registering the free version.

Makes me feel like a beginner, although I have 30 years software development experience (lol).

I totally missed this thread. I've been rather distracted with all the marvellous games that have been released recently, lol. I'll download these and see if my son is interested in playing around with them. something to maybe drag him away from Atmosphir and Spore, lol.

My son can't wait for the new update. There have been several updates since I posted details of the game months ago, but this one is a major one with more control over the brick placements within the 3D environment plus other goodies such as teleporters. My son could give you a full list.

Thanks for the info, Wizzard. The UNITY download is a more manageable 160 Mb compared to UNREAL's 400+ Mb.
Since you started this development kit thread, I read that in December http://www.atmosphir.com would be applying a new update to its 3D engine.

idunnobutiwastold touched on the Unreal Development Kit now being free in a post last week, but it was lost in the middle of a thread. I thought I would bring it back to the front with its own thread, especially now that Unity is now free as well. Both of these tools are excellent game makers that could give us the next game featured in our free game project. So all of you creative game makers out there sit up and take notice.
