I have tried CamStudio and although it works great for capturing desktop type actions it is to choppy for capturing game video. Fraps and Debut Video Capture both seem to do a better job. You can get a free version of Fraps, which does screen capture, video and benchmarking, though you can only record a specific length of video at a time with the free version.
