I use Perfect Speed 2.0 (upgrade of PerfectDisk Rx) by Raxco. It's not free. I bought Perfectdisk Rx for the disk compressor and got the rest in the bargain. I got the upgrade to Perfect Speed 2.0 for no free. It's registry cleaner is not the most user-friendly but it seems safe - if you use proper care and check it's reports carefully before letting it "fix". The past several weeks the only thing it finds to complain about I won't let it fix. It squawks about a file association with my .PAT files (not the default association) and if I let it have it's way, I have to reset the secondary association which brings back the error! I just don't have a way to tell it to leave that ONE association alone but check for other problems in that category.

@ MilesCh.

RegTidy is a misleading application, the most of antivirus and antimalware detect and remove this threat.

Do not use it for no reason, please.

You may use Macecraft JV16 PowerTools Lite, freeware, simply to use and clean

Imo messing around with too many programs can cause problems. I only use one registry cleaner and it is in system mechanic. That program does everything I need it to do. It has so many programs all in one.

http://iolo.com/ (I highly recommend it). It's not free, but imo it is well worth the money. You can get in cheaper than the 39.95 they are charging though. At Walmart is was $21 and it was like $15 for another year of service. It wouldn't be so much of a deal if you couldn't use it on three computers, but you can.

Thanks, Happy, I hadn't noticed all comments at the bottom of the page. In the future will always first check it out! Now to uninstall Regtidy (and search the reg for any leftovers).

Yes, this was pretty much what was mentioned and discussed the day of the Giveaway.
Hope it did not damage your computer in any way.

If you go back and read the comments about this Giveaway (which you can do, if you click the "all comments" link) - you will see articles about registry cleaners (and the advice for folks to stay as far away from them as possible, as they can sometimes do more harm, instead of good, to computers.) You'll also see articles that mention links to several good (relatively safe) registry cleaners from reputable companies.
