Hello HappyPerson, yes the name comes from the TV show. A farmer friend of mine started calling me that when I would help him on his farm from time to time. He is the only one that calls me that but when I wanted a user name for this site it just popped into my head so I used it. :)

last weekend in the UK. Usually the last full weekend in October. It's really depressing, - dark at 5.30pm

Hey there, Hoss, your nickname wouldn't happen to be taken after my favorite Bonanaza character, Hoss Cartwright, would it? I am a devoted Bonanza fan, for sure.

My problem is I have a radio alarm clock that changes automatically but since they changed the date that the change is made, I now have a clock I have to reset 4 times a year. Once in the spring when we go to Daylight Savings time, then I have to reset it when it changes itself on the 'old' change over date. Then I have to repeat the process in the fall when we change back. I checked with the manufacturer and there is no way to defeat the feature. Other than those 4 days a year it is a good clock radio, not really worth buying a new one; yet. :)
