Do you have the sequel Full Spectrum Warrior: 10 Hammers? It's got similar game play with better graphics.

I remember when Full Spectrum Warrior was released. It was the first FPS squad based game I'd ever played. Similar in some ways to the early Conflict series in that you controlled four soldiers (though in FSW you do control two fire teams as opposed to one in the Conflict series (the main difference was the Conflict series was third person only). If you've not played any of the Tom Clancy: Rainbow Warrior and Tom Clancy: Advanced Warfighter games you'll love those too if you like FSW. They can be picked up dirt cheap on Steam during the sales. :)

Hi Gregg I have a hard copy that you can have, but it may take some time to post it onto you as I don't get out much and easily forget. I still have two other games I promised to sent to other giveaway forum menbers (Silent Hunter 3 and one of the Myst games). That said if you PM me your address I will endevour to get the game to you when I can. (I think I actually have two hard copes as well as a Steam copy) It's a great squad based game.

I know it has been about a year since last post but hoping one of you can help me. I now have Windows 7 and want to play FSW, BUT it will not run. I have tried all the compatibility modes and even googled for an answer. It seems that there are lots of people out there having the same problem and the only answer that i have found is to get a 'hacked' or 'cracked' version and replace the .exe file and then alter some other files. I honestly do not feel comfortable doing this with my knowledge... and honestly do not know where to find a cracked/hacked copy of the game anyways. I know that some of you still play and was hoping that you might be able to help me get it running. Thanks in advance for any help!

Thanks, whiterabbit and wizzard, for your understanding of the difficulties of dial-up. I realize most people have broadband/high-speed now, so I rarely comment on it, but couldn't resist in this instance (hey, Txnnok - no fair spoiling the one game page that loaded quickly for me! :) ) I've used Free Download Manager for years, and been very happy with it; it IS very useful; I can usually get 10 to 17MB an hour.
That little trick works quite nicely, pavid, though one does end up with some odd-looking web pages - but they do load fast. But - I think I'll mostly leave images on anyway - especially since I usually use IE, and often go to sites where I need to see the graphics, and thankfully at least I don't have a limit on my account. I don't really want to be going into Tools to change the settings all the time. Maybe I should try Firefox - I have an old version of it installed, but somehow I just never liked it as much. Thank you all!

ScarletPetal - You can improve your web browsing by turning images off. Doing this will prevent the images from being automatically downloaded and shown thus speeding up browsing and saving bandwidth if your ISP places limits on your account. Firefox offers better controls for specific sites while Internet Explorer allows you to right-click an image placeholder and show only the image you wish to see without having to reset your option changes.

In Firefox click Tools and then Options... near the bottom of the menu. In the menu pop-up click to uncheck the box next to Load images automatically. If you have some sites that you always want to see images on, click the Exceptions... button at the end of the Load images automatically line. In the pop-up box that appears, enter the address of the website that you always want to see images on and click the Allow button. If you want to leave images on, you can create exceptions in a similar manner to Block images on specific sites. Unlike Internet Explorer there is so way to download and view images individually. However it is much easier to turn images on and off in Firefox than it is in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer has no equivalent option to create viewing exceptions.

For Internet Explorer 8, go to the Internet Properties box by either clicking Control Panel then Internet Options or from inside IE 8 by clicking the Tools button at the end of the tab bar then Internet Options from the bottom of the pop-up menu. Next click the Advanced tab and scroll down to the Multimedia section and look for Show image download placeholders. Click the box next to this item to check it then on the next line click the box next to Show pictures to uncheck it. This will get rid of most if not all of the images. Unlike Firefox, you can right click an image placeholder and then click Show picture to see only the images you want. Also unlike Firefox, there is no way to enter exceptions to these rules.

Try it out and see if you like the speed increase that this brings. Of course, undoing the above steps will put things back the way they were. Good luck!!

Ten hammers has slightly better graphics, but the game play is basically the same. The reason it's still being sold is that the free copy i've linked to is actually paid for by the advertisers. Thankfully the advertising is only found in the menus as opposed to disturbing game play.

Too many games... too many games. i'm already way behind with 2009's games and am already thinking about next years crop, lol. The fall period always seems busy with games; probably to link with christmasto maximize profits.

sorry you have to deal with dial up SarletPetal. I've been li=ucky enough to have dial up for a long time now so ca't appreciate the slowness with which larger files (even those that seem small now) can take by dial up. I remember the day when it took over a day to download some files.

I do try to post smaller game files specifically for those on dial up, but most games now contain quite high graphic requirements, all of which take up the bulk of the games download size. You will find many great games in the games synopsis that should be easier to download. I wish there was something I could do to help speed your downloads up, but there isn't. Have you tried downloading a download accelerator? They aren't liked by many download sites because of the bandwidth they eat up, but it may be worth checking out and seeing if such a program will help???

Check HERE for a list of download accelerators. I hope they are of some use?

Ok, I checked the page with TuxPaint on it; it took from 2:47:13 to 2:52:39 to load the first time, but that only got the pictures through Bullets of a Revolver; all the rest showed as red x's, so I had to refresh the page (as usual), which took from 2:53:20 to 2:56:49 to finish coming in; got them all that time. So I guess it took almost 10 minutes to get them all to come in.

I think one of the images above is actually from Ten Hammers, lol

Update. That's strange all the images i've posted are saying bandwidth exceeded. I've uploaded a lot of images today, so am wondering whether that is the problem. Hopefully they will be visible tomorrow; sorry for the inconvinience. If not it looks like i've wasted a lot of time. At least the videos are working.

The images are showing over on my account; you can see them as a slideshow HERE or all on one page HERE. you'll find a slider to the top right of the page where you can increase the size of the images a little. :)

Full Spectrum Warrior (1.61Gb)

I realize this is a very large download, but I guarantee that if you like squad based shooters you wont be disappointed with this game. You can still buy this but at a very low cost. (My last copy cost me £0.50 that's less than a dollar). This is one of those advert based games. I thought it was worth placing in the project despite the adverts because .... well, read below and you'll see.

I remember playing the demo; but not being that used to squad based games apart from the Conflict series (Conflict Desert Storm, Conflict Desert Storm II, Conflict Vietnam, Conflict Global Storm, Conflict Denied Ops plus one more that I didn't buy and can't remember the name, lol), I found the game quite hard to play when I first played it, so didn’t buy it until it was a budget title a few years ago. It turned out to be a great game. I’ve only recently bought the sequel to it called Ten Hammers (via Steam). The game was offered as a free download last year, but it was only a temporary thing; now it’s being offered again as a fully working game, but the only downside to it is that you do get some advertising included. Thankfully it’s not like the games you can get from Gamehouse, with 20 second adverts every few levels. This advertising is within the menus, so while you play you see no advets at all. I personally think this is a brillint game. The game is played from a third person perspective. You control three squad mates through an easy to use interface. I suggest you play the training levels before you jump into the game proper; then you’ll get the most out of this game. This is one of those games I ended up buying two copies so that I could play cooperatively with my son. You can play with two squads, you controlling one squad and your coop player the other. There’s also a full multiplayer game as well though I don’t know what the servers are like these days. The game was released in 2004.

In the game, players will command and coordinate the actions of two infantry squads leading them through a hostile urban warzone, as they outthink, outmaneuver and battle enemies through thirteen levels of intense combat. In addition, players can also go online and team up with a friend for two-player co-op gameplay. Full Spectrum Warrior is based on a light infantry-training simulator designed by Pandemic Studios for the U.S. Army as a tool to reinforce Army combat doctrine and squad tactics among troops.

You can download Full Spectrum Warrior [url=http://www.gamershell.com/download_33784.shtml]HERE[url]. Gamershell is marked red by McAfees site Advisor at the moment due to a couple of spurious links to sites with bad reputations. As I’ve said several times now, Gamerhell has been supplying free games, patches and demos of games for several years and I’ve probably downloaded well over a thousand files from the site, none of which have contained virii or other malware.

I may post some other links later. It’s been a long day and I’ve already spent several hours uploading images searching out videos etc and need a break.
