Hi Txnnok, Yeah I know. It's a long way around, but I like to make my posts look neat. I just find lots of images with different sizes looks scruffy and takes away from the post a little (no disrespect meant towards the post you've made, lol, it's just me - call me odd, lol. Also some of the images are ones that I've taken myself so have to upload them anyway. Though I supposed I could link directly from my computer as it's on for at least 20 hours a day, lol.

Hi Bigun.

No, once the game has been paid for, they can be played; though you'd have to set up a specific account that I could use. The accounts are free and would require a user name password and Email account. I've just set up a new Google email that should be alright to use. I'll email you the details. :)

For example, I buy all my games from Direct to Drive via a specific account. If you set up an account for me then Email me the information such as the reg codes and the download links it should be possible. If you are willing to do this for me PM me with details of where I can transfer some money via my PayPal account, or better still email me (probably safer).

I don't know whether there will be a problem downloading the games into a UK I.P. once they have been bought? If that was the case you may have to download the games then upload the games to your FTP. (Which may take some time, though it may not be necessary)? The amount of money involved isn't that much, so if I wasn't able to get the games to work it's no great loss financially. I've bought several games this year that have cost a lot more, for example Damnation, which I paid nearly £30 for back in May, was totally different from what the pre release videos portrayed and I found it not even worth what I'd be paying for one of the games you may get for me. Another one I paid over £30 for last month called Risen is another that I've found didn't live up to expectations. That's the problem buying games on the strength of pre release videos. They nearly always make them out to be more than they are. At least with released games and especially older games there's plenty of actual game play footage so you can get a better idea as to whether you'll like the game.

I've just bought the third game in the Painkiller series. The first two games are several years old now but for the time they were actually graphically ahead of their time and still look pretty good today. I pre-ordered this new game on the basis of my experience of playing these two games, plus the pre-release video, which, to be honest, wasn't really showing any game play. I was expecting an updated and graphically superior game to it's predecessors, but in reality, the game looks almost like the first two games. The same main menu and levels selection screen has been used and the graphics don't really look much different to the earlier games.

I believe the game has been created by a group of developers, some of which were on the original team plus several modders that created mod’s for the original game. The engine is supposed to have been updated, but so far I've not seen any difference; still, I’ve only scratched the surface of the game, so I may be wrong. :)

Thanks Bigun. The deal ends Sunday evening.

Regards

Stephen

p.s
Email me on my Whiterabbit-uk mail rather than the White-rabbit-moon-rising mail, thanks. :)

Whiterabbit:

I said that I was going to disappear for a while, but I haven't quite done that yet. While I was taking a gander at some of the things that used to interest me quite a lot I came across a post of yours in the GOTD forum. The post was in the forums section of Reporting on the Midweek Madness of Steam.

Typically of the four games I don't have the two I would really liked to have bought are only available in the U.S. (Vampire and Cold Fear). I used to have a earlier Version of Vampire: The Masquerade called Redemption. Still have the book but the game went missing quite some time ago???
W.R.
Are these games something that I could download for you or are they games that must be played on a server where your country codes are checked before play begins?

You do know that all have to do is go that site were the object is you want to show and right click- copy image, them come here and click image and paste that in there.

You lose some ability like adjusting the size that pic site offers to store for you, but your not having to twice the work either. Wow, if you're coping the image, uploading it photobucket and then linking it here, goodness, you are killing yourself.

As long as that web page stays going and or the the site, it will show up here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I here ya on the opiates, I got off the computer last night, I took my pain killers and migraine pills(just started getting these), watch about 5-10 minutes of tv and came back to the computer to check a download. I woke up with my head in between the keyboard and the mouse, my arm left arm numb from lack of blood flow.

Guess I was more tired than I thought. I didnt over take my meds. Actually since I got my migraine pills, I've been undertaking. Maybe my tolerance from taking less occasionally.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I probably shouldnt have posted this, everyone will be throwing pics up.lol

I already have three accounts with photobucket. i'm going to set up a few more and also look elsewhere. since we've beena le to post images 've already poted around 250Mb of images, all of which are around 40Kb in size.

I'm going to ger Stubbs the zombie as well. I'm trying to avoid buyin too many of these older games because I want to get the latest Call of Duty game and Assassins Creed II, both are out in november.. i've already spent most of my monthly entitlement on borderlands, Left 4 Dead 2 and the deluxe version of Dragonage Origins. but the price is tight.

I wanted to buy AI War Fleet command, Zombiebowl O Rama, Eufloria, Machinarium, cities XL and Dreamkiller, all of which (apart from the lasttwoe) are budget Indie games. I'll probably get them sometime in the near furture. hopefully when Steam offer them up as deals when the initial flood of orders die dow. I also fancy buying the latest Indie release called Hammerfight. I posted a link to the original demo release several months ago. It's one of those games with relistic physics which i love so much.

I'm going to check out divshare now. :)

Sweet another game I've been wanting for a long time. The Witcher. I almost bought it when it first came out, but went with the gamestop guys advice and got The devil May cry 4. Fun game, but I always wondered which I should chose.
-------------------------------------------------
Wow, d2d chunk out a bunch of good games. To many games, I think I'm gonna go with
Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse

A 0.0 rating is a must have, just to have it. In that pic is he picking lice or is wanting to eat brains?lol the video was even better
http://www.direct2drive.com/2492/product/Buy-Stubbs-the-Zombie-in-Rebel-Without-a-Pulse-Download
---------------------------
hey rabbit, You use a 2nd site to alleviate bandwidth. I know there are tons of other pic places and I have really used one though I have joined a few.
Divsshare- it gives the choice of posting large medium or thumbnail pics with download links built into share code for you. I always take out he link just to pic.

just a thought, since you post so many pics.

Hi again Tailteann. I still play (and buy) loads of casual games. I love arcanoids , tower defence and space arena shooters, but also play HOG's. I've bought several via my Big fish subscription this year, though think there are too many being released at the moment. Virtually every game being released by BFG at the moment is a HOG. :(

I tend to play arcade games as a break from the more intensive games that I usually play.

Hi WR! I've read how gaming can help with pain management and it's wonderful that it can offer some relief. It might sound odd to say but it's an holistic treatment really.

I'm loving these Direct2Drive Halloween deals and just might join too! I love spooky games and am ready to be moving beyond casual games a bit, to include more games like Witcher (at such a great price no less) or other real horror games, etc. ...Not that I'd give up casual games, I still enjoy some IHOGs like MCF: RTR. :p

Thanks again and I'll be looking forward to your upcoming reviews and on sale game recs! :)

Thanks Campy (I did say approximately i.e. ~ :) All my US quotes from Steam are approximate because my Steam account is registered within the UK so I don't see the U.S. price. Current exchange rates are $1.63 to the £ which equates to just over £18, so you're paying slightly more (for a change, lol)

W.R.

Hi Tailteann,

The Steam deals have enabled me to purchase a lot of games that I wouldn't otherwise have paid full price for (I've bought 214 from Steam alone this year). Crazy, but because playing games is one of the only things that helps me with my pain it's been a great saver. (lol) I try to post all the Steam deals as and when they start.

Another place you should look is Direct 2 Drive; they have a weekly deal that’s usually $5 for a recently released game. At the moment they have a Halloween special with several games well discounted, which included Dead Space ($19.95) , Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines ($4.95), Damnation (I bought this when it was released back in late May, rubbish game for full price, but okay for $9.95), Bioshock ($9.95), The Path ($4.95), Far Cry 2 ($9.95) brilliant game, Cold Fear ($4.95), Downfall ($4.95) , Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel without a Pulse ( $4.95). I'll be posting details later today; I’ve got a hydrotherapy session to do and today's free game, plus post images for this game (The Witcher) and East India Company first, lol. The deals on all week so will probably do it late tonight or in the morning.

Typically of the four games I don't have the two I would really liked to have bought are only available in the U.S. (Vampire and Cold Fear). I used to have a earlier Version of Vampire: The Masquerade called Redemption. Still have the book but the game went missing quite some time ago???

	Superior dialogue and cutscenes - The developers have re-recorded and rewritten more than 5000 lines of dialogue in English and redone the entire German edition to create more a more consistent experience, while adding more than 200 gesture animations to make characters behave more believably in dialogue and cutscenes.

	Enhanced inventory - The new inventory system makes item use and organization less complicated by introducing a separate sack for any alchemical ingredients, as well as a simple sort-and-stack function. Spend less time managing your inventory and more time playing the game.

	Technical improvements - The enhancements made to the technical side of the game are too numerous to list, but a few of the highlights include greatly reduced loading times, greater stability, improved combat responsiveness, faster inventory loading, the option to turn autosave on or off, and more.
