All the images I've posted are saying bandwidth exceeded. I have been uploading a lot of images over the last day, which could explain the problem.

You can see all the images I've posted for this game HERE as a slide show or HERE all on one page.

Here's some more images. I thought I'd posted a seperate thread for the Steam deal, but can't find it. i either didn't post it properly (I was falling asleep at the keyboard, or it's been deleted). Probably the former, lol. If you have games like Empire: Total War and one of the Anno Games you'll probably love this game. It's mainly based around sea battles, but there are land based elements as well.

HERE's the link to the Steam page where you can find more details. :)

Yeah you're right, my Steam folder is around 200Gb. I doubt I'll bother copyng them to disc as I prefer the disc to have all the eye candy. (I'm just a little too fussy). I'll happily buy deluxe versions if it means I get a nice art book or other extras such as a steel case etc. Even though they don't contribute to the game I think they are worth the money.

I've downloaded several single player expansions to COD4, but not checked anything for World at war. I got it on pre-order last year and have only played it for about an hour. I got a lot of other games at the same time (Fallout 3 for example) which grabbed my attention more. I much prefer sandbox type games for some reason. I love some of the linear games that I've bought over the years, but I soon get bored if I am forced into taking specific paths, like you are in all of the Call of duty games. I have ll the PC versions of COD but havnever finished any of them. The only one I played alot was the fourth one but have still to play at least half of it. I keep telling myself I should spend some time re playing all f the Call of duty games, but never get around to it. :(

At the moment, apart from playing Red faction guerilla every day I'm trying to get back into Fallout 3, Days of Darkness and am waitng for bordands and Left 4 ead to be released. Fallout 3 is probably a good candidate for replcing Red Faction, when I get bored of destroying Earth Defence Force buildings, lol. There's so much more to to discover yetin Fallout 3 and Red Faction, that I've probably got months of game play ahead of me. I played Fallout 3 for around 180 hours in the first two weeks after it was released, then had to do a format for some reason and forgot to back up the saves. Starting afresh after spending so much time over a short period put me off playing it again until the extra content started to be released on PC around June. I've bought all the expansions that are avaialble so far and started playing them a few months ago, but then got side tracked with other games. Steam has me by the %$*&'s at the moment. I check every day for deals and plan ahead what I want to buy... Sad I know, but it's sort of fun in an odd sort of way, lol.

I have noticed that they letting the users put sort expansions out. I think the good users/programmers get paid for the updates. Like COD WAW update 6 the zombie newiest zombie pack., but you can also get regular peoples ones I think.or I might be getting another game mixed up. Fixing to have to caffeine up or take a nap.

Oh, Rabbit you were talking about backing up your steanm games earlier. Let me just say, Disk wise you better do it as you go. I was gonna back all mine up on disk then reapply them. hu, it was like 70gigs and I know you have more than me.

Woohoo. Mail man just got here with my sata cords.I can finally get started. I've been waiting 3 freaking weeks for them, dont buy meritline if you need anything quickly.wow

Yes I was talking about lightscribe. The discs cost a little extra but they are worth it.

The last nCOD to be released was Callof duty World at War, which is the fifth title, (i.e. COD5, though COD3 was never released on the PC. This latest incarnation is dropping the COD title. They seem to have been releasing one every year since COD4 (Modern Warfare) which was released around Oct/Nov 07, then COD5(World at Word)was released almost a year later. Previous to that they were released every second year.

I do think the graphics are amazing, but I've always found the games a little too prescriptive (linear). I wish they would make a sandbox version like Battlefield 2 but with Call of Duty 4 and 5 graphics and the destructability of Crysis, or now (moreso) Red Faction Guerilla. That would be an amazing game.

Light-scribe does use the monochrome. That's what I've used on my pc for years. When I use it, I'm rather pleased as it does spice up the look of the disc.

As for CODMW2, Call of Duty 4 has been out for quite awhile now...well over a year. This is an actual fully complete game, not an expansion. I'm looking forward to it as I've not been let down with any of the Call of Duties.

That game has some sweet graphics.

You were saying about the ease of steam, I have always liked steam except for their controller layout so I just use the keyboard. I think its meant for x box controller.

Anyway, that game we all bought Battle-stations Pacific has an update through steam, but you cant get it with a normal download, even the programmer is aware of it. It helps with the controlling the planes esp if your using a controller.

I'm with ya on owning a disc to though vs steam. Just it being tangible plus using it in another computer without downloading it is a plus.

Does light-scribe do the monochrome?I think all my DVD burners back to almost the start have been light-scribe, but I haven't used them one time.
----------
one last thing , I get to rambling/waffling too..lol

Did you know that Call of Duty Modern Ware-fare 2 is coming out. I thought 1 just came out not to long ago and I was saving to get money for it. Now we have part 2, sounds like an expansion, that they are charging for. The COD video looked pretty sweet on their website. http://www.infinityward.com/games.php#/videos?id=5

I check the Steam shop every day, lol. Pity you missed both deals over on D2D. I bought all three last time they were on offer on Steam. Unfortunately I'd purchased the Civ IV games when they were full price, but honetly don't mind as I got a lot of game play out of them.

I've been neglecting D2D for months due to all the games I've been buying via Steam, but will start to check on a weekly basis, if only to see what the new deal of th week is. I really was surprised when I saw East India Company for only $5. That's an amazing bargain, (as was all the $5 games from the previous 5 weeks following the five year anniversary). Oddly, I've come to like buying my games via Steam The ease at which games are updated and not having to use a physical disc to start up the game makes it so easy to play the games. Already I've cancelled long standing orders for games like Operation Flashpoint; (which I pre-ordered last year - I think it's original release date was supposed to be April 09,) so that I could purchase them via Steam. Why, I don't know, as I do prefer having a hard copy as it feels like I've got something tangible. (I could copy each of my Steam games onto disc I suppose, lol). I have one of those DVD burners that can burn images onto the discs as well, but only in monochrome. Though it's not the same without a DVD box with box art (okay I can download the image from Google Image, lol.

Waffling again....

This was on offer over on Direct 2 drive 2 weeks ago for $5, now Steam are offering it with a $60 reduction for £6.99 (approx $10) Okay twice as much as previously, but still well worth it. You can also buy the base game with two expansions 9one of which has just been released for £19.95. The first deal is probably the better deal, but if you like expansions it's still worth it. I nearly bought this about 2 months ago via Steam when it was released at a cost of nearly £30 (around $48), but bought several other games and though I'd better wait until it came up as a deal on Steam.

video:

You can watch video's of East India company's game play and official release videos HERE, HERE and HERE

It's a rts game, with a mixture of Anno 1404 and Empre Total War, with a focus on naval battles as opposed to land based war. In my opinion it's a great game and well worth $5. It's available in English, French and German languages.

I'll be posting each weeks deal here, so keep an eye out. You can find this weeks deal HERE

In East India Company, players will enjoy building the World's most powerful trading empire and engaging in fierce battles in both single player and multiplayer modes, all within a breathtaking cinematic environment.

Players will fight, manage and rule their trading empires from Europe to the Far East with eight nationalities to choose from: British, Dutch, French, Danish, Portuguese, Swedish, Spanish or the Holy Roman Empire.

Starting modestly, you will build your fleet, establish connections to far away countries, and keep rival nations at bay. Choose from a wide array of ship classes, including a variety of transport and military vessels. Create diverse fleets and assign each of them specific trading routes. Control and upgrade well situated ports as you form your strategy for domination.
